of all you guys who share you fishing/cruising waters with dolphin.
we had a pod about 3 miles out on thursday and we couldnt get closer than 75-125 yards before they took off.
it is very rare that we get them this close to shore and when we do they are just passing through.
ok, halftime's over. back to my jets.

Sorry SOB's will eat anything they can get including fish right off your hook. After watching a dolphin slice a monster gator trout in half, and then 20 minutes latyer he sliced off a NICE redfish I haven't really liked them since. Not to mention the day I got bit by one. I reached over the side to rinse my hands off and the MOTHER FU@KER BIT ME! Turns out people had been feeding him and he associated boats with food.

yeah ferm somtimes they get too friendly, i havent heard that happen down here in a while. last time i went surf fishing they had one they kept harassing us. i think it was mad we were in the water.

Speaking of gay dolphins, MJ you should tell CTT about that website you "accidently" found awhile back.

Few years ago, was between the beachfront and jetties trolling, just released a short mackeral.
While looking at my lines and leaning over the side of the boat to wash my hands I had this sneaky bastard come up next to the boat.
He was so close while me being leaned over that all I could see was this eye ball. Not being able to think think or focas my eyes that fast, I leaned back and put my hands on the rail. He was right back within arms reach, I held my hand out and started to lean toward him and he slightly moved over.
I realized "oh, you want to be fed", instinctively I turned toward the cooler then stopped and realized this is why he is here. No, no handouts today, not from me. Knowing how bad the seagulls, pelicans, cats, etc are. If he had of been a shark, he could have easily had me for lunch and supper.
The ones way offshore are splotched white or mostly white colored.
Got an invite to go about 90 miles offshore to the "Deli" (as ballast mostly) and they are so bored (or hungry) out that far, it seems that they look for boats to keep around, oh and the flying fish are something else too that far out.

I think he really means the miami dolphins....

I hate them too. A couple weeks ago when we were trying to king fish there was a large pod circling around a school of menhaden. I would have tried to king fish around that school but with the dolphins around I felt it wasn't worth it so on we went.
