johnson 140 installed quick prop question

sorry for repost

Randleman is your prop a Johnson or Suzuki prop. The doing the install wants $200 for a used SS 21 but it has several nicks. I would like to start with some new or at least not damaged.

I have a new ss quicksilver typhoon prop part # QS6004x
The diameter is 14 and the pitch is 19 it is a 4 blade prop.
Do you think that it will work

Also if this prop will not work what size should be good on the V21 since it is a bit heavy. And I am a bit heavy then most 275lbs. and all of my friends are over 200 pounds

Thanks

Different props yet the same diameter and pitch will give varied results, meaning if it is aluminum, stainless or either cupped or not cupped.
From what I remember when my father had the boat I got, he was running a 15 pitch on the 140 he had but don't know anything past that.

if that prop isn't pitched too high, four stroke engines generally respond well to four blade wheels

Finally found it was a 4 stroke that you have.
Being it's a 4 stroke you could probably get away with a 17 to 19.
The one I meantioned was an early 80's 2 stroke.

Mine are both Suzuki, one 14x19, one 14x21, both aluminum.

I would try the 19 first.

Sorry, I've been away.

Mine has a 14 3/4 x 17 w/ my 2 stroke 150. Digs out of the hole effortlessly and pushes her to 42 mph trimmed up "suckin ducks" as Reel would say.

BR...I think that prop selection for 2 and 4 strokes is different. I guess because of the different power delivery at different rpms, but I know that when I first got mine, the old crusty mechanic who probably can pick a prop in his sleep for a 2 stroke missed by a mile on mine, he gave me a 15p that put me way high in rpms and about 28 mph top speed....but it would take off out of the hole like a rocket.
