caulking
i took my boat out fishing this weekend and noticed where the ubolt is inside the cabin its wet, so im going to remove it and caulk it but im not sure if i should use 3m5200 or 3m4200 what do you surgest
|
if you are refering to the u bolt used as a bow eye that comes thru the bow into the anchor locker area I would use 5200. Permenant, watertight and you will not be removing it again. Plus it will be wet enough to say it is below the waterline.
if you are talking about something else above the waterline then 4200 would be fine and will allow you the ability to remove or alter it in the future. |
also ck to see that the hull is solid there, there is a lot of weight there when pulling that boat up on the trailer. If not cracked or anything then 5200 be my choice also!

thanks 5200 it is

Don't forget, there is a 5200 fastcure!

i know but i dont need the fast cure stuff, should i put it in the holes too when i take out the ubolt or should i just seal the plate and the bolt where it goes thru the plate, i dont want any water coming thru what do you think
|
Inside the hole, coat the threads where it contacts the hull and rub some on your eyebrow, somehow it will get there anyway.
|
thanks

I replaced both of mine with a new plate and 5200. Never a problem again.
Has Anyone seen my V. I miss her. |
Yep I Went Down Sat, And Put It On Alot Too So I Know It Sealed It Up[i Hope]. I Will Check Next Time I Go Out Hopefully No Water
