My baby is alive and breathing again.

I still have a lower bumper spoiler to get as I couldnt find one to match and she will be finished other than a new paint job.

New engine parts such as radiator, ac condensor and tranny cooler all body parts and bracing, tie bars, etc....used and in great shape. I pulled a vaccum on the AC and refilled. With the new condensor she is blowing colder than ever!

It seems that every junkyard I went to I got things cheaper than originally quoted on the phone. I also ended up knowing the parts guy at Dodge and he even cut me some slack.
"Someone" was smiling on me.

Thank you LORD!

Dang, stink, you have that looking pretty good in a hurry. Did you do all the work yourself? You guys make me feel pretty darned inadequate sometimes with all you get accomplished in a short time.

lookin good quick

guess you did not have any insurance?

Stinky_Hooker 06-27-2008 01:39 PM

Liability only on my vehicle...the Mrs.' was fully insured. I really dont know why we never put mine on full even after it was payed off.....either way it will be fully insured soon enough!

Dang, you quick Stink!!
Only reason we go fully insured on certain vehicles is incase the airbags deploy. Some times they can cost more than the parts to repair body damage.

Stink....as a fellow Dakota owner and someone who seems to know boats and cars inside out, I have a question for you. My Dakota AC doesn't work. The clutch does not engage (click) at all even if I use a jumper to force it. I have lived with it this way for a while but what do you think the fix is? The coolant is very full.

Nice work, BTW!!

There are spacers in the clutch that may need a couple of them removed.
One way to tell is, if it engauges initally and then releases at higher rpms.
We found this out on 3 Chrysler products after exhausting everything else.
Basically the electromagnet can't now support the clutch due to the wear on the clutch.
Many compressors have been replaced due to this, when removing some of the spacers would give the clutch a couple of more years of use.

I'm with out SH, I HAVE to do my own work or I can't afford it.

And to any of yall who don't have air tools, they will cut the work time to a quarter of the time it takes turning by hand.

It could also be the pressure switch on the accumulator that turns on the compressor...pretty cheap trick to try even if thats not it.
