On its way...

I thought I already posted this, but now I cant find it, so if it is a double, I apologies
Well, you all know I sold the V and bought a Steiger Craft 18'
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...ly/boat-11.jpg
Well I pulled the engine and all of the cleats off (I ordered all flushmount cleats)
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...y/DSCF3100.jpg
I moved the 30 gallon gas tank to in front of the console, and toying with diffrent ideas for a bulhead/bench seat. They are also making me a fiberglass "shield/cap for the cables
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...y/DSCF3113.jpg
Also got a new 2008 E-tec and a new fishing buddy:love::sun:
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...y/DSCF3117.jpg
Well a funny story, when I bought the boat I was told it had a 25" transom so I ordered a 25" shaft for the engine..... a few hours after I drop the boat off I recieve a call," ahh, this is a 20" transom" Dowwwww
Well since the engine was already paid for and registered we had to imprevise and make a braket for the engine
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...y/DSCF3114.jpg
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...y/DSCF3115.jpg
Wich ended up working out for the better because if the shorter transom becomes a issue I can easily resolve it
A few more pics
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...y/DSCF3105.jpg
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/k...y/DSCF3106.jpg
I am also going to mount pole holders to the front of the console above the tank, sort of like the Whaler Montauks.. I have a new Lawrance 515c sonar on the way,A B/W Lawrance GPS/SONAR, new wind shield, and a few more odds and ends. I am planning on putting on a T-top and leaning post this winter, but maybe sooner if something comes along:sun:

chumbucket 04-09-2008 08:31 PM

Did you remove the lettering from the sides? It looks so much better without. I like the clean look.

chumbucket 04-09-2008 09:00 PM

I also can't wait to hear how she performs. Stripers coming your way Sean. few showing up at West Wall and various other locations. Some dinks up this way. You can probably get out there now for some 'Tog.

Sean, very nice buddy. Hey, is that a crack on the inside of the transom? Why did they need to use the starboard to mount?

Like it a lot man. That 18 looks much bigger than other 18's. I think it has something to do with the profile of the hull. I like it.

chumbucket 04-09-2008 10:25 PM

I thought it was a crack at first too. But on closer inspection, it appears to just be a rust stain.

Thanks guys I am excited.. CB I was going to put it in this weekend to chase some schoolies up the bay, but I have allot of work I need to get done or her, like paint the bottom, install a bunch of stuff and give her a good cleaning/wax and hopefully my wind sheild gets hear soon. Tog opens back up next tuesday so I'm planning a litle trip next weekend for some bass and Tog..
I like it alot better with out the name on the side and the cleats sticking up every wear, nice and clean....:sun:
NO CRACKS, My heart stopped when I read that!!!Just a rust stain as CB said. I think they used the starboard because I innitially ask them for a plate so the mounts were not right up against the transom, figured they would of used allumiom:head:
Thanks again!!!

Have you looked into the Fishmaster T-Tops? Pretty reasonable price. I don't think I'd want this setup for serious offshore duty. But for inshore with an 18' boat, it may just be the ticket.
If you study the pictures very hard, you'll se the T-Top. :hide::love:

C YENSEN 04-10-2008 07:31 AM

looking good....you gonna keep her at your mooring this summer?

Sean 04-10-2008 07:45 AM

I saw those CB, the price is right, but I don't want to buy just to buy one, I am also sceptical as I figure the boat will be doing some bouncing and not sure how the two peace top will hold up. hopeing to save a some coin and see what it will cost to have one made.. I talked to the lady @ Atlantic Towers and for under $2,000.00 I can have it custom built and delivered.. will see
CY, I assume I will have the same morring this year ( I am actually trying to give the guy whose mooring it is the old 75hp Merc I have as a Thank you), but I have a feeling I will be pulling the boat ALLOT more, kind of scared:zip:to leave her there. There is sort of a ramp right around the cove from the mooring that I could not pull the V from, but I should be able to pull this one.. We will see:beer:

C YENSEN 04-10-2008 09:27 AM

what did that mooring cost you for a season?

Sean 04-10-2008 09:29 AM

Nothing:beer:

wpearch 04-10-2008 12:40 PM

great price

randlemanboater 04-11-2008 07:22 AM
