Though as individuals all in that ensemble had amazing careers and were blessed with incrediable talent, to have such a diverse group together in a genuine appreciation of one of the greatest voices to grace a stage was a very special moment in musical time.
If you notice how KD Lang, Bruce, Elvis, Bonnie Raite, Tom Waits, Steve Cropper and all the others would just stare in amazement at a man Roys age (a year before he passed) and the vocal range and quality he possessed. They once asked Elvis Presely who he enjoyed listening to, who did he think had the best voice in rock and roll and he said that if he was able to sing like anyone else it would be Roy, that he had the greatest range he had ever heard. Yeah, me and Elvis, we think a like:beer: |
I will have to watch out for that, I've always liked Roy even though I'm not old like Reel and Willy.:you:
|
The DVD and the CD's are available at Borders and other music stores or on line.
I listen to him on 8 track and Ozzie listens to him on a Victrola:you: |
Old Guys Rock!!!

Always liked Roy over the years. In the late '80's he produced this Mystery Girl Album which turned out to be a very pleasant surprise in that he still had the fantastic vocal range. Give this one a listen willy.

I used to sing this one to my daughter at bedtime and she loved it. Then as she got a little older and more defiant like her mother, I would tease her saying as she was halfway up the stairs to her bedroom, that the sandman was at the top of the stairs. She'd come bolting back down those stairs screaming and my wife would get pissed at me.:you:
