Another addition!!

Well I am loving the new boat!!

I have bought tons of stuff some of which is already installed and some that will wait till spring!

I have been thinking of a new Bimi and full enclouser and after looking around and getting quotes the best I could do is $3000

CB found a used hard top in RI that came off a 23 Sea Ox, but after talking to the guy and asking questiions, it was a top that had been cut to make fit and it went all the way to the gunnles, so you have to duck down when trying to get around the walk around.

So I decided to get a quote on a new one, well that ended up going to $5000 to rich for me!!

I found one on the internet and they said they could do for $2600, then I have to add rod holders and stuff to that, and shipping would be about $300+ coming to a grand total of $3300+

Last Thursday CB and I went to the Boston boat show and I went to 4 tables with hard tops.
1st no one there,

2nd was great and new what they were talking about, they knew every weld and told me prices and even showed me a Sea OIx with there hard top installed.

3rd Had no idea!! I was amazed!! they had no pictures, had no idea on the price and could not say what came on them, about all they could say is that they have some good welders.

4th guy had his nose in a paper and could not answer anything except the price, he said $5000

So we went back to # 2 This women knew her stuff!! And I bought a coustom top for my boat complete with 4 rod holders, radar pad, spreader light mounts, and all hardware and mounts for $2600 + $175 shipping from NJ. $2775 total and I get $100 free options, she tryed to sell me on the per installed canvas track, but thats $250 and with $100 off thats $150, I thought it was high and said no.
Good thing cause I found some online for $39 + shipping and it is easy to install!

Then I was told the sprader lighjts were $100 so I would get them for free. I thought about it, and I have like 3 pair marine ones at the house so I said No.

So what I have decided is to have 2 more rod holders installed, they are $65 each. so 2 will be $130 but to me $30, I will have 4 across the top and 2 on the down tube one each side.

Delivery will be 1st truck in April.

Here is a pic of the new hard top, I love the no front legs, nice view and nothing in the way!!

MJ, sorry to tell you but that ain't going to work on your boat.
The only way to get anything useful out of that is to sent it to hammer and see if he can salvage any of it.
Looks way too good for a Sea Ox.

randlemanboater 01-22-2008 06:13 PM

MJ does this lady have a website? I'm looking for a hard top for my 250 Sportsman.

chumbucket 01-22-2008 11:12 PM

www.atlantictowers.com

Shelly was her name and she was very knowledgeable about their products and applications.
You may still be able to get boat show pricing.

macojoe 01-23-2008 06:46 AM

CB is right, call and ask for her and say to talked with her at the show, she will never remember!!

The price was $2999 normal before the show, but you never know?? And that is for any boat or the same price+ shipping top your area.

reelapeelin 01-23-2008 06:58 AM

The flat side plates would make EXCELLENT mounting points for a nice pair of outriggers:beer:

That is a nice top, MJ...

See, now that wasn't so bad after all. Somebody took those pics for their visual appeal.

Now where the hell is Shelly? :sly:

C YENSEN 01-24-2008 10:44 AM

dam BR, if you need some pics that bad just check out WET:happy:

Blue_Runner 01-24-2008 10:52 AM

What sux is I surf the board at work and cannot chance it with wet during work. Believe me, the few times I log on at home I spend most of it getting caught up with wet....I sometimes have to pour over pages upon pages of new wet material. Hard work I tell ya.

wpearch 01-24-2008 02:13 PM

I looked at them

if you order before the show in your area they may send it to the show and you can pick it up save fright they make arches too

Sean 02-04-2008 07:39 PM

Nice going MJ, you are going to love the top. I was going to have them (AtlanticTowers) build me a radar Arch for the V last year. She was goingto take it to the boat show and I was going to pick it up there. I think it was lie 1200.00 with 4 rod holders and lights?

macojoe 02-05-2008 04:53 PM

That was cheap!! They up to $1800 now wit 4 rocket lunchers! But they have other stuff also.

Boat show pricing is about $400 cheaper then what MJ paid for his.

macojoe 02-20-2008 10:03 PM

I got mine at the Boston boat show?? I better not have gotten screwed!!

Is the one you looked at come with 4e rocket launchers, spreader ligt brackets??

Now I want to cry!!

chumbucket 02-20-2008 10:56 PM

Can't compare a Radar Arch to a Hard Top when pricing.

Blue_Runner 02-21-2008 02:00 PM

Allow me to derail this thread...

Is $650 a good price for a radar arch with 4 rocket launcher rod holders and mounts for 2 lights and of course mount for radar?

There's a guy not too far from here that I'm looking into.
:nut:

Blue_Runner 02-21-2008 02:46 PM

Scratch that, there are 6 rod holders, not 4...

What do you think? $650 pretty reasonable don't you think?

garagenc 02-21-2008 03:38 PM

nice I wish I had a set on mine

chumbucket 02-21-2008 03:45 PM

$650 is a good price if the measurements work out for you. If you have to do much modification, it may not be worth the effort over cost ratio.

Blue_Runner 02-21-2008 04:25 PM

Already talked to the guy...it will be custom to my measurements and will take 7 - 10 days to fab. He will even make it removeable if I want for an additional charge.
But then my wife calls and says, "Honey we have to pay our property taxes on our lake trailer by the end of the month." How much is that honey? Her response, "$800.00"

Some beetch
wife = green
me = yellow
