How I like Blue Fish!!

Thanks BS!! Let the dishes fly!!

Everyone hates Blue fish!! I love it!

First thing is to take care of the catch! Before you even start to fish for another, you must cut the head, tail and gut the fish and get it on ice!!

Then the same day fillet it and keep it cold!! Eat the same day or the next.

Fresh is best!

Now there are many ways to cook, I like deep fryesd like fish and chips or on the grill.

On the grill, get one of them fish baskets, and add fish sliced lemon salt and pepper to taste.

Or wrap in foil with Garlic salt peper, Onion, & peppers

Deep fry like fish and chips!! Makes great sandwiches the next day also.

Nothing special!! Its all in how you take care of the catch!!

Admittedly I'll just be here to heckle the gourmet crowd here. I do ccok some nice Ramen noodles though. I've heard they're to die for. ;D

Keep your stinking, oily, nasty, foul tasting Bluefish. I like catching them. Not eating them. :-X

Here's a tip for PB&J. Put peanut butter on both pieces of bread and the jelly like normal. The extra peanut butter on the other slice of bread keeps it from getting soggy.

MJ..i agree..bluefish ARE good if prepared right and FRESH...like same day..no freezing...i have to be one of the most picky fish eaters around..i dont eat anything that tastes "fishy"

i decided to try some one day...i had caught blues, spot, croaker... and had a fish fry.....guess which was the best eating? the blues!....i didnt cut the head off or gut them.. i brought them home...fileted them, made sure to cut out all bloodline...seasoned them and put them soaking in a bowl of milk for an hour in frig.. then battered them up and fried them...excellent eating fish.

sounds like white trout. you gotta get on em right away. round here we dont cut it on the boat unless its bait. fillets on the boat will get you in big trouble with the blue swirly guys!

I'm a blue fish fan too!! I do mine on the grill or fried like MJ said. I actually do not cut or bleed at all but I do eat fresh.

A couple extra things I do are - first double fillet or aka do not scale, just fillet then flip fillet over and cut off skin. Then, you will see the dark strip down the middle - cut that out. You end up with strips of skinless, boneless, dark-meatless meat. Butter and garlic in foil on the grill. Do not even have to flip. Eat it when it turns white. MMMMMMM Tasty.

Oh yeah, when they get big like over 5 lbs or so, the meat isn't nearly as edible IMO. I like small blues around 1 - 2 lbs.

P.S. Capt Bent, I know you don't HAVE to eat blue fish with all that flounder you caught this year...
