A little update with pics now!!

Hey guys, I worked on the baby this weekend and progress is slow, but sure. I am in the process of glassing in the newly built stringers. I had to replace the two in the fuel tank area. One in the rear of the tank and the other at the cabin entrance. I am also putting in the kevlar on the floor that we talked about before. It will basically run into the base of each stringer and be glassed to it creating a totally separated fuel area and of course a good drainage underneath. ;D
I hope to finish this glassing this week and I will attempt the flip this weekend. I will attemt the only V20 flip I know of saturday if all goes well. Ill get a bunch of my buddys to help and my wife will take pics and keep emergency numbers handy. ::) I will also have a digicam for a couple of days starting tonight, so I will be a pic postin ho. ;D |

That thing looks POWERFUL! I hear state troopers look specifically for the streamers on the handlebars to cite the real troublemakers.

		Looks good!
I'd replace the tank now- you'll have peace of mind and never have to open the decks again! |

Re: A little update with pics now!!

Yeah i am leanin that way on the tank Fillet. i just cant stand the thought of not being able to go to another spot because of 10 or so gallons of fuel. I also dont want to EVER do this again!!! ::)
Oh on the trike...yeah she struggles a little on hills, but gets great gas mileage! ;D |

Re: A little update with pics now!!

Tanks cost big $$$, Take and have it perssure tested!! If all checks out reuse it!!

Re: A little update with pics now!!

That's a GREAT job, Stinky...look ALL around that tank paying close attention to CONTACT SURFACES...that's where the wear will be...if you don't detect excessive wear, then like MJ said...pressure test and install if it passes PT ... ;D...
Ground Wire...when you put her back in, don't forget the ground wire... ;D... |

Re: A little update with pics now!!

Great pics! That fuel tank looks EXACTLY like mine did when I pulled it -- minus the holes, evidently. You can see pics in my gallery. Tanks are very costly, so if yours looks OK and pressure tests, you might think about reusing it. I didn't have any choice in the matter.
	Choose wisely, grasshopper. ;) |

Re: A little update with pics now!!

What kinda range might I have on 46 gallons....anyone???
	 |

Re: A little update with pics now!!

		A single 150 or 175 gets about 2 1/2 to 3 miles a gal. X by 46 gal you will get aporxmently safley 120
But that said it all depends on the water at the time? but that is how I figure mine and it is pretty right on!! |

Re: A little update with pics now!!

I always deal in gallons used per hour. My old 155 hp burned an average of 7 gph. On my first full tank to full tank with my new 200, I burned 5.4 gph in all-around use. If you know the rate at which your engine burns fuel, you can compute your range. But I would always allow at least a 25% margin for safety.

I have 3 tanks 20, 20, and 25 1 to get there, one to get home, and one for spare!
I keep tracked by when they get empty!! |
