Odds/Ends
Looking pretty crappy here.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02337.jpg Oh no, what did I get myself into. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02338.jpg Ok, was it measure once and cut twice or measure twice and cut once. Feels like I'm hanging wall paper again and I hate wall paper. *>:( http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02339.jpg Thank god for Lisa, or I would be looking for a new windshield. Almost punched out the windshield. Just not enough hands to get it in straight. Well this is the best I can do. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02340.jpg DONE: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02341.jpg |
Re: Odds/Ends
You can fill with Formula 27 then sand smooth, then recover, Or I would cover with Starboard? Up to you.
If you need small Starboard for things like that try your boat yard, I got a piece for my dash 1/4" for $10 out of there scrap pile. |
Re: Odds/Ends
Sorry, the last 2 pic's were slow to show and I posted with out seeing them.
Looks like you did a great job!! Whats the paper you used?? |
Re: Odds/Ends
Wanted to cover over with starboard or a piece of stained wood. But this is what I decided to do for now.
$7.00 at the Home Depot store for the covering, compared to 40 or 50 bucks for starboard. I'll let the next owner worry about it. *;D |
Re: Odds/Ends
Looks good to me, if the Captain says its ok, then its ok.
The new owner? |
Re: Odds/Ends
looks just fine!! For you or the next owner!!
|
Re: Odds/Ends
Exterior shelving mat I guess you call it. Airslot turned me on to it. Got it at Home Depot for just a few bucks.
You can still see some of the old holes, but for now it will have to do. Used 3m spray so I know it will stick. It comes with a sticky back, but I beefed it up some. I'm just glad Lisa was there, short on patience when it comes to wall paper. ;D |
Re: Odds/Ends
Next owner, for when the day ever comes that I sell my baby. ;)
Waiting for warmer weather to repaint the bow and reinstall the hatch slides. Still have like 10 feet of this black sticky mat left over, if anybody needs it, I'll ship it out to ya. ;) |
Re: Odds/Ends
Tryed to make it an all day thing, but its done. That means I gotta start the wash, do the dishes and god knows what else for Lisa. Maybe even do lubercated perverted things to her. I'm in Hell now. :-X
|
Re: Odds/Ends
The only problem with starboard is that I like to lay things up there and have them stay put. Nothing stays put on starboard ;) I used sheld liner from the kitchen center at walmart...but I filled my extra holes first ;D
|
Re: Odds/Ends
Airslot, that 3m spray glue is great stuff, just makes it harder to getter done. Less movement with the spray glue. Plan on using two of the covered holes for a mounted fan and a cd player I hope in the summer. Will make the wifey happy. ;D

Re: Odds/Ends
Looks good. I had that stuff on my CC and luckly when I removed it the glass was in good shape. I decided not to put anything back on. My question to you is. If it only cost 7.00 won't it cost that much to mail it to someone?LOL

Re: Odds/Ends
Yeah it would. Just trying to be a loyal member here. ;D
Sent out a tilt trim switch for free before for free. Thought I was being nice. Took forever to even get a Thank you. >:( ;D :P |

Re: Odds/Ends

Like I said before, the guy who had the boat before was no mariner. But I guess he tried. If you want to send it, I'll take it. ;D |
Re: Odds/Ends
Have ya tried any Goo Gone on that?...
|
Re: Odds/Ends
OH MAN that is FUNNY RANDLEMAN!
Hammer, lookin good man - keep those pics rolling *;) Seeing that windsheild support reminds me - I've got some work to do. Gotta replace those pups. Last owner had 2 on each side - cheap kind. Well one broke and I'm just waiting on one of my first, no, "second mates" to put his weight on it and break my whole windsheild off!! ::) |
Re: Odds/Ends
Blue, is that on the v20 or 21 that needs new supports.

Maybe we could start a "World's Stupidest Boat Mods" thread, you think you got it bad until you see what someone else gets to fix!
|
Re: Odds/Ends
Randleman, I sent that package out to ya today in the mail. Might take 3 days to reach ya though. ;D

Thanks Brother. *I've been taking advantage of my extra days off (staying home w/ sick kid), making headway on the todo list so I might need that stuff soon. :D |
Re: Odds/Ends
Went out and had some new cables made today. Shocked by the price of copper because of the war and all. They wanted 51 bucks for the cables, used the city of Lewes discount *;D and paid only 25 bucks. The old cables were on the boat when I got her. Looked like they were from some old Chevy pick up. *;D ;D ;D

Re: Odds/Ends
Replaced my rectifier today. Didnt do anything differnt.
Had my Mecr. manual out as well. Doesnt tell you what to look for if you have to many volts. Maybe nothing is wrong at all. I just never noticed my volt guage go so high before. My this is supose to do this ? I have no ideas here. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02409.jpg My tac and volt guage was the engine is at idle. Figured it should be at 12 volts, but its a bit to high maybe ?? http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02413.jpg Replaced my old battery cables. Not a big deal, but with my screwed up neck and pinched nerve, it was a pain. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02410.jpg Motor runs fine, but no tilt still. *:-/ http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02411.jpg Hey AIRSLOT, notice that my solinoids are located on the port side with this homemade bracket. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02408.jpg One thing I did learn from reading my Merc manual is that when checking the solinoids, it states that if you hear a clicking noise from each of te solinoids, it indicates that they are working. I hear the clicking so now fearing I gotta yank the DAMM trim motor that I wasnt hoping to do. :-[ BigShrimp is sending me some good used solinoids and I'm gonna replace them and see what happens. If that fails. Off comes the engine bracket and a search on E-Bay for a trim motor and a price that I can afford. The only thing I worry about is disconnecting the steering arm again. When I played with the steering last season, I broke the big nut to the steering tube. *:-X |
Re: Odds/Ends
clicking selenoids only indicate the selenoid is getting a voltage input from the switch, it still may not be making contact over the primary poles, get a test light and check it before you start pulling the trim mototr off
|
Re: Odds/Ends
Was kinda hoping that Randleman would be feeling a bit guilty with that extra Merc lying around and it would show up in the morning at my door step. ;D
