Repairs Finally Started
Ok, I finally got to work on the V this past weekend.
Problem is, now I have two weekends in a row that I will not be able to work on her. First repair, bilge access covers. The old owner just had plywood covering the holes. I had some Home Depot trexlike material leftover from a set of cellar doors I replaced. I put them together then routed the edges round, and painted them with the paint that grips to plastic. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ilgeaccess.jpg No picture, but I did pull out the on engine trim switch. had to pry it apart, cleaned the contacts and epoxied back together. Works like a charm now. Stayed tuned and as I repair items, I will post before and after picks. |

Re: Repairs Finally Started
Thanks for all the comps,
more repairs to follow. Hey Willy, the engr degree is only helpful for measurements. I am a natural born tinkerer, one day, my mom came home from work to find that at the age of 10, I took apart our old B & W TV. She yelled, I put it back together and it worked better than ever. My dad worked in construction, so I picked up a lot of building pointers from him. I worked with metals, so with all my experience, the degree is just a piece of paper. |

Re: Repairs Finally Started
Supermodel bikini storage bins.
Will post pics of progress, once I get started. |
Re: Repairs Finally Started
With what mine wear that will be about the size of a cigar box for a dozen of them ;D
What you really need my friend is a bench seat about the queen berth size with plenty of bounce and support. And a wine rack below along with a full bar and icemaker 8) |
Re: Repairs Finally Started
Willy, I just may be able to squeeze all that into my cuddy.
Especially now that you made me realize the storage bins don't need to be so big. ;) ;) |
Re: Repairs Finally Started
LOL !!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Re: Repairs Finally Started
I live 2.5 hours away from the V,

Re: Repairs Finally Started
Actually, one of my repairs involves a package from
Twisted Parrot. I hope he reads this thread and let's me know where it is? |
Re: Repairs Finally Started
Twisted Parrot best not be sending you a bracket or a bench seat. >:( >:( >:( ;D
|
Re: Repairs Finally Started
No bracket,
no bench seat, but it will show up in this thread, when installed. ;) ;) ;) |
Re: Repairs Finally Started
This weekend I made a few more repairs,
wife had the camera, so no pix. If I would have been stopped by the coasties, I would have been fined for no lights, found the problem, corroded switch, that in itself was a major accomplishment for me. Then I added a power outlet for a handheld spotlight, CEO says I am not going night fishing, well she ain't, but I am. Cheap West marine hand bilge pump, connected to a water pump check valve connected to 3/4 pvc pipe, and a rag - any guess's... fuel tank gas filter. kept recycling the gas through the rag to get all the crap out of my tank, I think I got about 80% out. found that the fuel level sending unit was corroded, it crumbled in my hands when I ttok it off, oh well, no gas gauge for me, I will just make sure I always have a full tank. Old owner had his electonics wires all over the place like spaghetti around the console. drilled a hole in the console, installed a rubber grommet and got rid of the spaghetti. Next project - redo tank floor cover. |
Re: Repairs Finally Started
No camera. >:( >:( >:( Walmart is just down the road. Drop of that hatch cover, we'll reglass it. ;)
|
Re: Repairs Finally Started
Don't worry HAMMER, I will catch up with my pix.
Anyway, the hatch is not going to be reglassed, When you see what I am doing, then you will understand why glassing is overkill (for my project). |
