Speaking of which, isn't it ridiculous that SoDamnInsane is being given a trial? I would have thought that in that part of the world, he wouldn't have any rights to an extended trial.

RAP, as funny as this sounds and as backwards as I think the people of the Middle East are, in some ways I think they have a thing or two to teach us about carrying out penalties for crimes committed. They don't mess around.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. By introducing democracy to them, we're also introducing beauracracy as well. Hope they plan on building more prisons as part of the plan. ::)

If Iraq truly had WMD that would be one thing...

"War on Terror" what a joke. We are much more hated and subject to terror strikes NOW than before this so called joke of a war.

Sadaam is whack job that needs to be dealt with accordingly....like the death penalty which I'm sure will be the outcome.

No flames from me, Tin. But wasn't Saddam responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths? The web site referenced (if one believes them) puts the number of violent civilian deaths since the US went in at between 38,000 and 43,000.

PD, not sure what the total is, but in 1988 when he gassed the Kurds, about 5,000 died.

As far as the website's total above, don't know how accurate that is, I believe it to be close. 2,500 Amercian troops now dead, for what????

Certainly no disrespect to anyone in our services Racer, from anyone here thats for sure. But I think you already know that.
I to served in the Army and have a different view than many here. I respect their views and opinions but decided a few months back to not get involved in any Bush bashing or Dem bashing type conversations any more because I feel my vote takes care of that in november and I don't want to turn my Boat Forum into a political forum, God knows there is enough places to do that. And I don't want to offend anyone such as your self who may have strong personal beliefs or maybe even losses or personal tragedy during this period our country is going thru.
With that said I consider everyones opinion of value and would and have defended their right to express it. I also feel that we need to consider our words and their effects on all here.
Better yet How about those V20's some boats huh ;)

best to let ya'll know, i removed a post from this thread that had prompted willys post. i dont think willy was refering to me specificaly but, after hearing his wisdom i thought it would be best to remove mine and get back to rhe boats. in doing so i think i kinda made willy look like a bit of a cheese. i am sure that willy has been very cheesy on many occasions. but this one is not his fault. best way to resolve this situation is for everyone to just SHUT UP AND FISH!!!!!!!!(dot forget the pics)

That's a good attitude Tin. I too feel that way. Me and my best friend here at work debate things all day long and there are never any hard feelings, even if we can't agree.

But, just think how boring it would be if we all felt exactly the same way about stuff. I love to hear a good opinion - but you better be prepared to hear mine too!

If everybody felt this way, I'd say it shouldn't hurt to talk about political things here - this IS the off topic section ya know. Besides that, if someone doesn't like what they are reading, they don't have to read it. Nobody can make you come in here to read political posts! If it makes you angry, you should stay clear. If not, post what's on your mind. You might just learn something or have a change of heart after hearing someone else's point of view - or maybe not.

P.S. When I say "you" I'm not directing that at anyone in particular. I mean "anybody". ;)
