Re: unbelievable
Unbelievable is right -- it's difficult to understand the devastation unless it's seen firsthand.
The company I work for sent a crew down to Long Beach to help get some water lines back up. They brought back lots of photos . . . and lots of stories of what they had seen. I salute you and all those rebuilding, and will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. And look forward to the complete story of your V-20. ;) |
Re: unbelievable
Really incredible the power of a hurricane. :o
Just goes to show, just because a building has been somewhere for hundreds of years, it just takes one big wind to blow it away. Here in eastern Pa. we have to watch for the stray tornada or should I say freak tornado, that goes through about once every two or three years. It is really a shame to see history torn down in an instant. |
Re: unbelievable
pretty cool stuff here. judging from the pelicans, i would say this was about the best protection around. this area only took about a 22 ft surge. looks like about 15 when video stops. i dont know why. might have caught a piece of debris. like god smacked him in the head for being stupid, lol.

Re: unbelievable
yup Katrina was a beootch.....whats sad is every focuses on new orleans when mississippi was hit just as hard...hope we never see something like this again.
|
Re: unbelievable
what would they have done if katrina would have hit N.O.? i hate to see what happened there. thats where i was born. but, they skated by on the clean side of the storm. we bore the brunt, they need to get thier crap together over there. as far as the press coverage goes, it is a little agrivating at times but, the media follow the contreversy. the less they talk bout us, that just means the better things are going here. nobody wants to hear about a community working together and making progress. lets talk about crooked politicians squandering billions. or a racist mayor talking about how racist the rest of us are. thats what sells papers, right?
