Great fireworks at Yorktown
I took my two little boys, my sister and my niece and nephew out on the York river last night night to see the fireworks. Yesterday was Yorktown Day( when/where the Rev. war was surrendered) Absolutely the best fireworks Iv'e ever seen, best seats in the house too!

Re: Great fireworks at Yorktown
Ive done that locally great during th efireworks but a disaster when its over. Its like a parking lot with no lines. Boats in all directions, most people are sh**faced aswell. I always want to go out on the water to see them but dread the ending.

Re: Great fireworks at Yorktown
I know just what you mean, Regi. We go out every Independence Day for fireworks, anchor and enjoy a picnic dinner. There are typically 50-100 boats around. As soon as the fireworks end EVERYBODY hauls anchor and hauls a$$! That's why we anchor early, picking a spot well away from the main channel, and afterward we sit and enjoy the evening until nearly everyone is gone. Oh, and I keep the gazzillion-candlepower spotlight handy in case anyone comes too close. ;D

Yeah......I was amazed, the word must not have gotten out about the show. The boat ramp I put in at (5 mile run around the corner) had only 5 trailers in the lot. Not a soul there either when I loaded her back on the trailer. It worked out really good. ;D
