Re: BOOTY CALL
Well, I took the boat out, hmm and the wifey went to. ;D Threw in 6 gallons of high test and off we went.
She ran great ! ;D It was a bit choppy in the ocean so we stayed in the bay. Looked for a shipwreck in the bay with no luck. I still cant figure out that Garmin gps I have. I do a chart plotter on my computer, save it to the gps unit, go out and still cant find the wrecks >:( >:( >:( The full enclosure was great, really holds in the heat of the day. Also, no more screaming to talk. Only down fall I found was, in the past when the windshield got splashed with saltwater, that was ok, simply look over the windshield. But when the enclosure gets wet as well, makes navigation abit hard at times. I did have some type of odd problem when coming in. My fish finder started beeping saying "High Volts" ???????? I looked at my battery guage, it was reading 15 volts. I was running at 28 mph when this alarm went off. Back in the canal when my speed was much slower, my volts were back down to 12 volts. Is this normal ??? going from 12 volts to 15 volts at times or differnt speeds ?? Hope I dont have an electrical problem :'( Well, here a few pics. Would have taken more, but I thought I left the camera in the truck until I found it on the way back. >:( http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...r/DSC02190.jpg |
Re: BOOTY CALL
M.J. brought up a good point about the rear enclosure. I do prefer the full rear view instead of the half window/half canvas.

Re: BOOTY CALL
hammer instead of lookin for wrecks set that gps for bodys...... I hear they are lookin for a guy who fell off the ferry the other night .......
|
Re: BOOTY CALL
hammer, if engine rpm's increase, the stator or alternator will put out more volts, I'm not sure how many volts are to many though, if its putting out to much voltage it could be the voltage regulator. very nice pics, the enclosure looks great, have a great new year!

Re: BOOTY CALL
Lumber, where you here that at ??
That info came threw our station the other day as well. Think the guy jumped off the Ferry. Thanks Mod7, the enclosure worked well after some alterations. Will to many volts blow the batteries or wiring ? |
Re: BOOTY CALL
Nah brother that super model is all yours, you lucky dawg, happy new year and be safe out there ;)

Re: BOOTY CALL
Hammer, the regulator or and rectifier are easy to test w/ a meter. When I get home I can look in the book for ya. Lookin sharp my man.

Re: BOOTY CALL
Nice pic's!!
Yea I like that you have cloth about 18" high to keep plastic clean. Thats what I will do. I go from 12V to 15V in mine, never got a high reading warning. But if you are really getting to much juice ck the battery's water level, the battery will cook them till they are junk! Keep the water up till you find out if you have a problem. |
Re: BOOTY CALL
Hammer from what I know on my equipment, the engine will often produce more juice than is needed by electrical components, my fishfinder tells me how many amps/volts are on line when it's running. The equipment should have a regulator on it to prevent over juicing and there should be an in line fuse also to protect it from excess and spikes which all systems occassionaly produce.
The one to ask is Franco, among his many attributes he is real good with 12volt systems and can tell you what to check or whether you ca ignore it. |

Re: BOOTY CALL
Thanks Willy. I dont have an inline fuse. When I installed the new fuse box and battery cables, I simply ran new battery cables straight off the new batteries to the fuse box.
