Cool deal!!!

I am a train nut since I was big enough to breath on my own.

I don't currently have a layout (darn kids wanted bedrooms) but I do have some track nailed to a piece of plywood so I can get em out and run them now and then with my kids.

HO scale for me.

Re: Model Railroaders Here.......

I just bought the Lionel Polar Express this year for running under the christmas tree. My mom still runs my Grandfathers 1920's Lionel around her tree each year. I would like to incorporate a train layout in my basement when I get around to finishing it.

Cynsen, I have to sets of antique Lionell Trains, one from when my dad was a boy of 6 or 7, he is 84 now. The second set is from when my oldest brother was born, he would be 58 now ( he passed away a few years ago) I may want some pointers on setting up a display

HO guy here. I started building a layout in my "man room", but I bought a boat and then I broke the boat, so now I'm just broke. I have done some weathering and took an undecorated Atlas Dash8-40B locomotive, painted it Conrail colors and put Norfolk Southern patches on it. It looks stunning.

Re: Model Railroaders Here.......

Nice setups guys, I wish I had time to put my HO's together,
I just keep collecting them and putting them in storage.
Maybe one day.

Did you guys ever notice, that to get any old trains,
you have to go to the train shows?

Whenever I go to a flea market or antique shop,
there are never any there or they are junk.

My buddy has got it made, his wife is into trains like him,
they even redid their dining room in a train motiff.
He painted the ceiling to look like sky with clouds and then put two tracks about 7 feet up the wall, all the way around. They both love to just watch the trains go, they say it is relaxing.

Next time I go to their house, I'll get some pix.

Cy you need a little model V20 tied to that dock with the red/green bow light and a stern light. That would be sweeeeeet!

Nice RR's boys :D

Re: Model Railroaders Here.......(PICS)

since my pics at the coast i've added some buildings to the yard. i want to build a dock in the dry river bed and have some boats docked in there. can't find any 1/24th scale boats besides sail boats, no wind humpers on in my dock.

Maybe us old guys are dropping off
not much nostalagic value to a 30 year old.
A hobby board is not a bad idea. Cold as h*** here in central Pa wind chill about 20 below tonight THINK SPRING

There's one train set all true train collectors want. an Original Lionel Girls Train.

lol well actual reason i named my boat that, I work for the state and contracted to the School system in Alamance as Data Communications Specialist, my girl is a K teacher and I love to fish i thought what better name than Skool for my fishing and Out for her summer so Skool's Out fits all ways what ya think.

Frayed_knot, wow! that deisel looks exactly like the one in the photo. How long did that take you? I am truly impressed.

Much farther detail than i have seen.

Re: Model Railroaders Here.......(PICS)

Thanks! It took about 10-15 hrs I guess. Would you believe that was my first time. Of course I know where the flaws are, but I can easily fix them.

I built a small spray booth to do the airbrushing. I was more proud that I built the spray booth and it worked just as expected. Not a normal outcome for me.
