As Forrest Gump once said to Lt. Dan, "My boat".

Thats a real nice boat you have there Randleman. I wouldnt be so quick to sell her for a V20.

Without those lounge seats which I happened to like you have just as much if not more cockpit room than a V20. Plus those sides have to be great to lean against when fishing, I wish my sides were that high.

Nice boat deep and lots of seating. One thing the V20 would have on yours in weight, which would give a smoother ride. Billy Mac ;D

Re: Starcraft Pics

Yeah, this boat weighs 1200 pounds, hull only. *It is not a very smooth ride in anything over 1 to 1.5 ft.

But I can take everyone with me, I have a big cooler that seats 3-4 kids at a time that I put in the back. That plus the other seven seats and the room for 3 beanbag chairs under the bow, it's party time!

And it is nice and deep. *My littlest one is just getting tall enough to see out while standing on the floor.

I have run it for 3.5 years, touched bottom once, just barely.

Randle what year is that puppy, and length. Love the Starcrafts, had two of them. Only probl with the ones I had was they leaked thru the rivet holes. By the end of the day the bildge would come on five six times to pump it out when I would ease forward into gear.

randlemanboater 01-31-2007 08:00 PM

Re: Starcraft Pics

This one is a 1974 Holiday 21 footer. *The guy who I got it from took it apart and replaced any leeking rivits. *It stayed dry for 3 years but has started to seep again. *Nothing major, just like you said, enough to kick on the pump as you take off.

The guy went all out when he redid this boat. *If something needed one screw to hold it, he put 3. *It is a super boat for family cruising, skiing/tubing, and even does ok a few miles out on calm days.

It's just that my boy is getting the age that he, and I, want to go offshore.

Re: Starcraft Pics

Gotcha, I had 16.5 and a 17 footer. Both road well and raised fish for me. Had a Force 50hp and my 9.9 on the 17 and it would fly. But like I said both riveted boats leaked like a sieve. I did the same routine on the one boat as your friend did but some of the rivets are blind under keel and hull runners and all I could do was epoxy them from inside. Worked for awhile but after a year they leaked again.

Cost of living and most of all the cost of homes in the area have exploded. Everything has gone up but our salary. In contract talks now with the city. Fighting hard for more cash and a pension plan. ;)
