I love them things! You just eat the tail, They call ity poor mans lobster around here, they are great in a chowder or stew or just chunked up and diped in butter.

Too close to a toadfish for me!!

monkfish, goosefish or stargazer are all common names for it.
yes, it is good to eat.
quite common around here.

I was gonna say stargazer - can't they put out a small electrical charge?

I always thought they were Stargazers, *seems to be a lot of them around this year. *My Dad caught one last month which had to be at least 5-6 lbs.
