Arrrrrggghh!!! There... I've vented some of my frustration. Jeepers you hit the nail on the head. The guy is supposed to pick it up in Jersey ~ the 12th and figures to have it to me by the 19th.

I have memorized the pictures, insured the boat/trailer, measured my side of the garage to make sure it'll fit, lost an Ebay bid for a GPS (Garmin 172) and am buying a kicker motor and bracket (used Evinrude 15hp 4 stroke at ~ 99 pounds). I was awake early this morning at 04:00 thinking of bimini vs hardtop, modifications to the seating layout and SCUBA tank brackets.

I'm freakin' going insane.

You would thing that with the availability of maps and directions on the internet these days that trucking co.s would use them.

At least twice a day some poor trucker from out of state approaches me with a piece of paper with his directions on it.

Often is says something like "Bubba's Garage, Greensboro NC"......that is all they give the poor guys.

Uh.....um.....but I'm sure your guys are first rate there TH. ???

Hmmm... the hauler goes by the name Qball. Should I be worried?

Gotta tell you guys this. I'm making a paella tonight, enough to serve 10 adults. I just got back from the store a few minutes ago. Janine was at home and I was shopping alone. I chose a certain checkout aisle not because it was the shortest but because there was a fairly attractive blond in tight Levi's and a tight white top at the end of the line. She's buying chips, salsa and 3 huge bottles of champagne. Then she turned and struck up a conversation with me. Turns out she has a hair salon for men and women that she has opened up nearby ~ 1 month ago. I asked how business has been. She says 'GREAT! I give away free champagne on Saturday's and I've hired a lot of pretty girls." Then she floored me by adding, "I encourage cleavage". By the time we left she was patting me on the back and calling me, Darlin'.

I've been getting my hair cut by Leroy and Kenny for the past few years. They are a father and son barber shop with animal head mounts on the walls from their hunts around the world and the current game playing on TV... a real guys' kinda place. I'm sure gonna miss them.

Hey Tuna, what trucking company are you using?

I hope you read all the threads about MJ's motor fiasco.

It's not really a trucking company, it's really more of... well... a guy with a truck. I asked for bids through Uship. Had a number of offers but his worked out the best timewise and at a reasonable price.

I did not read the threads about MJ's motor problems. I don't think I'm gonna look 'em up now either. (For the same reason that I don't watch Jaws before diving)

Most of our dives involve annoying the fish in one way or another. *Usually thats with the pointy end of a spear. *The water here is cold (49-52 degrees) and murky (10 feet of visibility in Trinidad is a pretty good day). * The trade off is that few folks dive here and there are lots of fish and rock scallops. *The big prize on the northern CA coast is abalone. *State law prohibits use of SCUBA tanks to take abalone so we have to free dive for them. *There is no commercial fishery for abs in CA any more and no sportfishery in the southern half of the state. *~Fifteen years ago when they were still commercially available my dad found processed abalone steaks at the big fish market in Los Angeles for $60 per pound with a 5 pound minimum purchase. *People either love abalone or hate it but the ones like the taste REALLY like it. *I'm one of them.

The pictures were taken last September on the Mendocino coast about a 3 hour drive south from my place. *The new boat will be making many trips there!

My friend Adam, myself and my brother Eric on a beach dive at Albion cove kelp beds.
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...amIverEric.jpg

A bunch of us with some of our abalone. *The abs were invited to dinner with us back in camp.
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...arkCoveAbs.jpg

This is NOT what it looks like!!! *I SWEAR I was only helping Adam zip up his wetsuit.
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/IMG_0745.jpg

I like to cook. *I made a paella one night and fed about 10 adults.

Great Pics. Tuna. I live on the beach, but dont do any beach diving. To much sand in the gear, plus the current in the Bay is strong. Viz. for North East wreck diving is the same. Some days black and in your face and other days, 20 ft is great. ;D
