Re: halibut cove cabin
AK, help me out here. I can't see the rocks well but it doesn't look like there are any marine organisims on 'em. That makes me think fresh water. The color of the trees/limbs near the water though look like there might be a tidal exchange arguing for a connection to the ocean. Where in AK are ya and what do you use that kayak for?

Re: halibut cove cabin
Looks like salt to me, bet the kayak is the only way in and out with the tidal flow, probably off a mother ship

Re: halibut cove cabin
Specialy with a name like "Halibut" cove. You don't find those in fresh water.

Homer!!!!
I've left a couple of things pinned to the ceiling of the Salty Dog Saloon. I've been there twice and both times spent 4 days fishing on 'but charters in Kachemak bay. Last time I took my parents and we stayed at Land's End at the tip of the Homer spit. I'd go back in a heart beat. |
Re: halibut cove cabin
Homer IS wonderful. Is Duncan's still there? Best place for breakfast (I'm always thinking about my next meal).

Re: halibut cove cabin
As long as we're talking about Alaska . . .
Land goes fast in Alaska town's offer (AP) A town in Alaska's frozen interior that offered free land to anyone willing to put down roots had it all spoken for within hours Monday. People dropped everything to fly or drive north, camping out in weather as cold as 25 below and dreaming of homes they would build amid the spruce and cottonwoods of the town of Anderson, population 300. By Monday morning, 44 parties were waiting in line for a shot at the 26 large lots offered to the first people who applied and submitted $500 refundable deposits.
