B.T.U.'s

Ok guys, this is really off the topic, but wifey is bustin my chops here to ask. Something she just heard on one of her food network shows saying that B.T.U.'s stands for British Thermal Units.

I disgree, its been years since I use to install gas firplaces, but recall the b.t.u. rating had something to do with the amount of heat per hour.

Any takers on this one. Wifey is waiting for a responce. *:-X

She's right, but I bet your used to that. BTU does stand for British Thermal Unit. Sorry I couldn't find a picture of one, but here's a definiton:

A BTU is defined as the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit.

Guy walks into a store and says he needs to buy an air conditioner...salesman says ,"How many BTUs?...that helps determine what size you need."

Guy says, "Well I'm gonna need enough BTUs to cool off a B-U-T as big as a T-U-B!!"...

:D

Well it WAS funny 35 years ago... ::) ...

Re: B.T.U.'s

I made an exhaustive comparison of Hammer's previous posts and compared them side by side with the the punctuation, grammar, vocabulary and sytnax of the original message in this thread. *I have come to three conclusions.
1) Lisa is responsible for most of Hammer's more intelligent and well researched posts.
2) Lisa likes wine.
3) There is some evidence that Lisa is of Asian descent.
