Yo Parrishht
Yo Parrishht, Sorry for the bad news buddy, but our favorite drinking hole on the Lewes Canal Exploded and burnt to the ground this morning. IRISH EYES on the canal is gone. :'( :'(. Lisa and I have 10 years of memories at that place. We were also sent out this morning to ALL PROMAIDS cleaning service that was also on fire. :-/. Fourth structure fire in 5 weeks. :-/
I'll snap photos as soon as I can for ya. 10 years of good times there. Pull your boat up at the dock at the rear bar, grab a few cold ones and a nice dinner. Lisa and I had our wedding party there and a surprise party me last year. Was just there last week for Saint Pat's :'( |
Re: Yo Parrishht
Not the best pics, but as you can see, I wont be drinking for awhile. *:-/

Re: Yo Parrishht
Hammer...sorry your waterin' hole met w/such a firey end... :'( ... have you talked w/owner?...is he gonna rebuild?... :D ...
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
Irish Eyes has been a landmark pub for locals, touriest and for boaters since 1936. Owners say they will rebuild. ;D. Would be nice to have it back by summer, but not sure. :-/
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
Someone will rebuild it, may take awhile but it's tough when you lose a favorite hang. You will find a temp hideout, maybe in the end have two good spots.
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
Irish Lightning ;)
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
that sucks Hammer. sorry :'(
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
kinda looks like one of those crooked cop hangouts dont it.
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
That looks like a gas leak explosion.
You'll just have to walk a block in the direction of the drawbridge for drinks. That is a real shame. I will bet by mid-summer, they will have a grand opening for the rebuilt IE. They have two others in the area that are generating income, Rehoboth Beach and Milton, both always have good crowds. I just read the gazette, what is going on down there, is there an arsonist running around? |
Re: Yo Parrishht
Hammer, as one who's been there, its a shame to lose such a place. They'll be back in business before summers end is my bet ;D
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
sorry to see that hammer may the old irish eyes rest in peace..... :-/
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
Well The other fire on th eother side of town that was burning the same time Irsish Eyes was, is now classified as a Arson. We are now waiting to see if Irish Eyes was an arson as well.
Lisa and I went down this afternoon and tons of people were everywhere. It was like attending a funeral. Many friends and new friends were made there. Its already been said that they will rebuild. Can only hope it wont take to long. |
Re: Yo Parrishht
Jeez, what a great place. *I've never been east 'o Vegas and I already miss Irish Eyes. *Truly sorry for the loss of somewhere you all made so many memories at.

Re: Yo Parrishht
Thanks Tuna. Everyone is still walking around in a daze deciding where our new watering hole should be at. Meeting today at 4pm to determine if it was arson or not.
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
Dayum, me too. Hammer and Parish talk about it so much I felt like I had been there. Sorry for you loss fellas. I know they will build it back better than ever.
When hurricane Isabelle came through a few years ago she took with her the Sand Bar and Grill, which was one of my fav. hang outs down on Hatteras Island. Well, Frisco to be exact. They moved down the street to a huge soundfront establishement, which I have yet to visit but look forward to visiting. We were there 2 weeks before it was destroyed. |
Re: Yo Parrishht
New condos are to blame for me losing my favorite summer hangout. >:( BJ's south, you could pull the boat right up and dock. Best sandwich in town. ;D :'(
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
This CONDO madness has to stop! >:(
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
In Dewey beach, you could pull the boats up to the
bar and resturaunts on the Rehoboth Bay, Some of those will be lost to condos. |

When they rebuild they might change the name to:
Irish Boobs |
Re: Yo Parrishht
Well guys, we caught our man this morning who burnt down Irish Eyes and the other business in town this morning. We raided his home and found him hiding out.
The reason he was lying low was because he burned half his face off when he lit up Irish Eyes. As of now, we have him for the two arson's, breaking into the bait/boat repair shop that my friend Joe owns at the Lewes boat yard, plus we are attempting to link him to the 23 other burglaries in Lewes. His father that he worked for owns a carpet cleaning business and the clean vacant homes that are getting ready for summer rentals. This was the perfect M.O. for this scum bag. We locked him up last week for not paying his bar tab at Irish Eyes, that pissed him off, so when he was released, he came back and burned the place down. He should have been in Jail already because we locked him up on recent drug charges, plus two police departments locked him up from Burglary. The wheels of justice really do turn slow. >:( |
Re: Yo Parrishht
Glad ya got 'im...glad he BURNED his worthless a$$...too bad he was let out and given opportunity to do this >:( ... too bad one of the arresting officers' guns didn't accidently discharge into this scumbag's pea-brain... :-/ ...
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
Glad he got caught. I'm seeing this from a different perspective though. Some nurse in the jail is having to do daily burn dressing changes to his face. Sometimes those things stick to the wound and ya gotta tug kinda hard on em...
Hammer why am I guessing meth was involved? TH |
Re: Yo Parrishht
Close Tuna. He has a vary costly daily crack habit.
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
Iam suprised i didnt see anything on channel 6 action news
|
Re: Yo Parrishht
Think the news crew might be a bit scared. The second building that burned down, well thesecond floor was the apartment that was torched. The women who rented the apartment was the anchor women for W.B.O.C, a Maryland and southern Delaware news channel. :-/

Re: Yo Parrishht
Good catch, I've known many sh!birds like that, dealt with them for years over and over because our society has not got the intestinal fortitude to put them away for a long time.
Instead many suffer tragic losses of personal belongings and valuables and the risks of injury and death. When I first started on the PD almost 29 years ago if we had someone who we knew was poison we would run into him in the wee hours and provide him a massage, spiritual cleansing and an escort to the town border where we would advise our brothers next door to be on the look out for a suspicious character. One time we started a very special fellow, who liked to pin young girls against walls and fondle them as a past time in between breaking into homes and doing heroin into a find Jesus trip that started in Scotch Plains one evening around 11:30 PM and ended for him as a in-patient in a emergency room in a hospital in southern PA. three days later. Seems the poor fellow started out in a daze due to some unexplained physical distress and ran into countless agencies on his voyage of discovery who all contributed to his travel itinery and was being admitted to a phsyc ward for evaluation. Several months later he returned and promptly ran into one of the uniformed ministers that was working with me and he took off running , we lost him. Later a few days go by and we find out he stole a car and fled the state. Tried to do a burglary down in VA. tried to run over the police officer that approached him at the home and the cop shot him. He was incarcerated down ther and permanently wheel chair bound due to his injuries. I miss those days, I really do :-/ |
Re: Yo Parrishht
Willy, during the summer months we round up the local scum bags and give them a free ride on the ferry to get rid of them. Sorry for dumping them over on the Jersy side, but they do the same to us once in awhile. I guess we both hope they accidently fall overboard on the ferry trip. ;D ;D

Re: Yo Parrishht

|
Re: Yo Parrishht
Read the article, I'll bet the dad is a really nice guy.
The kids sound like real winners. Irish Eyes planning to open in September :o :o Maybe of Lumber goes down and helps. But then again, whoever did the work on the Milton location, really worked fast. |
Re: Yo Parrishht
