Does Phats, Willy, Air and MJ have the same problem ??

Hey AIR, I think you posted something on your pulpit about the anchor shackle....mine is to wide and wont slide through the shaft of the pulpit. Gonna go with a small chain and tiny shackle i GUESS.

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

Two things... I just found out about the shackle deal tonight. I have a large shackle on the anchor and it barely clears with a lot of wiggling. Chain size is fine, just need the right shackle, no biggy.

Hammer, in that pic you have the boat in way, way to deep. The stern has floated up, lowering the bow. When I launch I have the tires in about 6" of water, the let her (controlled) roll off, won't have any problems at all. That's where you ran into problems.

Thanks AIR, knew I was screwing something up. When I cranked her in after the ride, she was fine.

Hey, I thought the guy with the pirate ship was tryin to
sell it?

Did he decide to keep it and make a go of it?

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

Its for sale for the right price. He's pulling in $750.00 a trip and will be doing 4 trips a day starting in June. I'll be out on it Sat. Left is dressing up too.

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

My personal opinion FWIW,
I think you need some more rollers between your winch and the
first set going towards the back.
I have had it in too deep and not deep enough,
but the reult was always the same,
I could drive it home to satisfaction.

I'll show you mine, if you show me yours.

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

You need more bow lift!!!
Are you in the middle??
Are you on the rollers?

Pull that trailer out the water a bit!! No wonder you hitting that front tounge and gouging the boat!

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

Hey HAMMER, just put the trailer in the water till the top of the wheels are covered with water.
You should be able to see all of your rollers as you approach.
Since my ramp is private, they allow us to power load,
i.e. use the outboard to get as far up the trailer as we can.
Can you do that at the public ramp?

msbhammer 05-20-2007 04:48 PM

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

Gonna try and learn to power load. Look Out !! ;D

Still think its a factory flaw and not a guy who doesnt know what the hell he is doing. ;D

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

Just get that trailer out of the water, and put some muscle in to cranking that winch!!

Airslot 05-20-2007 10:49 PM

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

For those who don't know the story, that trailer carried my V for about 18 years. It ain't the trailer :o

macojoe 05-20-2007 10:58 PM

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

Thats ok if he trys to power load it, and its that deep, we are not going to worry about it, he is going to drive the tounge right threw the hull and sink!!

Hammer don't do it, Just pull the dam thing out of the water so that the fenders are just under and try it!! If to high sink the trailer a little, iff to low pull up a little.

Worse comes to worse get power winch to do the pulling for you.

BUT DO NOT TRY POWER LOAD TILL YOU NO WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!!!!!!!

Re: Unloading / Pulpit Screw Up

No power loading, at least not until after the get together. Would hate to go on a boat ride to show you guys where she sank at. ;D
