i'm, with ya RAP
My "world" is not nearly that big or as well equipped. most of my work is scattered in "campfires" all over the back porch or yard
my wife says i have "fear of completion", if i complete a project, i will no longer be needed, therefore i don't complete anything.(she has her masters in ed.)
I have my Phd. (post hole diggers)

Skools, we could work well together, I have a simular system of organization, I've got about 75% of that stuff in about 50% less space.

Of course I could turn off the computer and go out in the garage and clean up, nah! ;D

I know the feeling about the messy shop and ID'ing the hardware. As for the 4.7L, .060 overbore is a stretch on most 4.0L blocks. 4.6L is much easier to get. 4.5L is a walk in the park. If you plan on building one, go with the 4.0L long rods. The 4.2L short rods have problems with piston slap and spark knock. Did one for a friends WRANGLER with a NV3550 tranny and 4.10 gears sittin on 32X11.50 tires, it's QUICK!!! I've personally outrun 5.0L MUSTANGS to 60 on NUMEROUS occasions. But he goes through ALOT of U-joints and driveshafts :o ;D.

ferm those won't work i'm using a 4.2 crank and rods plus my 4.0 was bored .30 over so that makes it a 4.7 brother, and it will habe chevy 250 distribitor and ford fuel injection, done all the work before and built these before. plus will have the Comp Cam with 490 lift ;D

Re: Time to Clean Up

4.2L crank and 4.0L block +.030 is a 4.6L, 4.7L is +.060. JEEP should have run the longer stroke from the get go, it really brodens out the torque curve and pulls from idle to the sky. The one I did has a COMP EXTREME 4X4 cam(.462/.485 lift), OFFENHAUSER 4 barrel intake, HOLLEY 390 CFM 4 barrel carb, 94 high port head(massaged over some), 88 block standard bore, 88 4.2 crank, 88 distributor, and an MSD ignition with 6A box and BLASTER 3 coil. I'm personally not happy with the short rods and stock pistons(10:1 compression isn't really pump gas friendly for the most part) as it causes some spark knock issues. I had to drop the timing down to 26 total for 89 octane fuel. We played with it a little on 93 with booster and the timing set at 32 total :o ;D, it was AWESOME!!!! But he had me tune it down for streetability and cheaper fuel.
