That's right...I've lived long enough to warrant a colonoscopy tomorrow... NO FOOD :'( today...clear liquids only and oh joy, banana popsicles ::) ... and lemon jell-o :-/ ...boy, that's gonna be good ... they say if yer over 50 ya oughtta get one...I guess younger ones just can't stand gettin' their poop-chute scoped ;) ... ;D ...

Anyway, I'm thankful to have good health, and that this procedure is available :) ...

My doctor's name is Bruce, originally from P'town w/apartments in Atlanta and Key West ... so I guess he's a "natural" for this kinda thing ::) ...

Did one a month ago. The preparation is worse than the procedure. The short nap (15 minutes) was the most restful sleep I've had in years. No polops. Doc said I had the colon of an 18 yr old. I just wish I had an 18 year old's energy, etc. Mostly the etc.

Nothin to it. had 2 of em. the worst thing is knowing that you can sleep through a 5 foot garden hose up you tater hole. it looks like the oil fill hose in grease pro.....

I agree with Seacrets, the preparation is the worse, and the "Fleet drinks" are the pits. Not to mention spending the entire day on the toilet! ::)

I never had one and I am in no hurry!!

My brother had one, and after he was done went to his local Home Depot, when there he felt like he had to go, ran to the bathroom and just as he got his pants down a bomb went off!!
He said it was on the walls and everything!! LMFAO!!

He ran to his wife and said they had to get out of there NOW!! His wife was why?? Look at this, he said no we got to leave!! LMFAO!!

I am so glad they have the pills now, thanks for the info. I am due for my "poop-shoot-exam" this November and was dreading it. The pills sound so much better because the Fleet drink sure does taste bad.

I was 25 when I had mine done :o. I had to take 2 DULCOLAX tablets, and this wonderful MIROLAX powder that I got to mix with a gallon of GATORADE. Let me tell ya now, HAVE A CLEAR PATH TO EL CRAPPER!!! When it hit's it hits with a vengeance! One hour on the nose to be exact. But the actual procedure was over in about 1/10th the time I waited to go in. Unfortunately my mom worked in the hospital I had mine done at, so she got a first hand look at the procedure for me :o, she even signed my rump >:(.

Reel, don't feel to bad, my 3 year old daughter has Eosinophillic Colitis ( she has an excees amount of white blood cells present in her intestine). It took 6 months of test and doctors, plus 3 endoscopies/colonostomies, 2 upper gi's, and 2 sigmoidostomy(please excuse the spelling, i can hardly pronounce it, let alone spell it). She's due for her latest colonostomy( her 5th) this Friday. She's been on a tube fed liquid diet since Halloween. She's handleing it a lot better than my wife and I are. We've found she's can't have any lactose(milk products) and fructose(sugar). The liquid diet is broken down amino acid proteen strings( really nasty) that is fed to her by pump into a tube that goes directly to her stomach. They've got to stabilize her system so it wont produce excess white blood cells, then we start testing for more foods that she's alergic to.

Spare... :'( ... my heart goes out to you, your wife and particularly that brave little girl of yours ... we've had a coupla bumps in the road that tore me up w/our girls...but nothing as drawn out as yours ... stay strong for her ... ;) ...
