Re: Another Gator
They do get big down here in FLORIDA though. I've got the head of a 13'2" monster in the living room. I may have to dig up the pictures of it crammed in the back of my dad's old 84 TOYOTA 4X4. He got him in 89 ???(not 100% certain on the year) in the gator hunt from LAKE HANCOCK outside of LAKELAND. He came in at 13 feet 2 inches, and weighed a bit over a 1000 pounds. So they do get big down here too.

Re: Another Gator
This is a picture of a REAL central FLORIDA gator, he was 13'2" and 1000+ pounds.

Re: Another Gator
I guess ya'll heard about the gator attack last weekend on Lake Moultrie, its only about 15 miles from the house. Some guy was snorkleing( can't image why anyone would snorkle in that lake) and a gator attacked him and ripped his arm off. He's in MUSC right now, in serious condition. Is SC's first reported gator attack ever. Pretty grusome :o
|
Re: Another Gator
maybe he migrated north with the coach
|
Re: Another Gator
rumor is that he was "noodleing", trying to catch cat fish by hand, swiming around sticking his hand in holes and old stumps. A customer of mine that lives up on the lake sent me some pics(kinda grusome), if ya'll want, I'll post them tomorrow, but don't say I did'nt warn ya

Re: Another Gator
Glad they have hunting seasons on them here.
As for noodling, the DNR has posted in the fishing regulations basically making it legal here. An employee of ours from Oklahoma asked if we noodle around here. My responce was only if your an idiot, between the moccasins, alligators and (threatened) alligator snapping turtles. There ain't no way I'm wading around in the tea colored water and sticking my hand under boat ramps, in stump holes or river washouts. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...3/snapper3.jpg They get well over 150lbs. |
Re: Another Gator
Thanks for the pics, Spare. That was one big ol' gator.
Noodling? It's INSANE! |
Re: Another Gator
I would bet money that ol' Stinky Hooker knows somebody that is a noodler. ;D ;D
|
Re: Another Gator
I know of some noodlers, but I'm not related to any.
