In all fairness, it was Sabbathia's time to come tumbling down. He won 19 previous. But, the Sox were huge on both offensive and defensive playing. Ortiz and Manny back to back last night were an incredible hitting combo. Beckett on the mound was nice too. Shilling will be throwing tonight. I've got to work tonight, but that's why we have a portable TV. Hopefully it'll be a quiet night and we get to catch much of the game. 8)

Pats v. Dallas tomorrow too!!!!!! ;D great weekend for New England sports. 8)

Whoo boy. The Sox need to bench Gagne for the rest of the post season games. ::) Boy does that guy suck. >:( He's not doing himself any favors either cuz nobody's gonna want him next year. >:(

Down 2-1 now, but I am not worried. Sox are still going to take the ALCS. I am, however, worried about those Colorado Rockies; those guys are on fire!

I'm a little concerned. I think they are in trouble right now. They should let Beckett pitch tonight, then he'd be ready for game 7.

You may have the Patriots, but I have the Colts, still world champions. I have to say, however, that the Patriots looked really good against a very good Dallas team on Sunday. And, I hate to say it, if I had to form a team and pick either Brady or Manning, I think I would go with Brady.

Well, as of right now, Indy is our one major concern. That'll be a tough game. And, as bad as Miami is doing right now, we don't have a good track record vs. Miami in Miami. We'll see though.
Most around here feel that this Pats team is the best we've ever put together. Including previous Superbowl winning teams here in New England. 8)

I agree Beckett should have pitched. My 14 year old son (who, of course, knows everything) said that before the game, but I told him Wakefield would do just fine. I kept telling him that through the 5th inning when I fell asleep, and, apparently, it went to hell after that.

Went to the game last night!!! *My neighbor has some connection who works in marketing for the Sox and hooked him up with tickets. *They were "HP Pavilion Club" seats directly behind home with a restaurant behind the seats, full bar, and waiter service at your seat! *Amazing!!!!

I agree LESTERUS. Lugo needs to go. I said that earlier in the year. He's a good base runner and there it ends.

Good game last night. Pedroia gave them the wings they needed at the right time.

God, please don't let them let Gagne pitch at all in the series. Please? :'(

Once again, it's a great time to be a sports fan in NE. Pats are........, well, I guess not much needs to be said there. Bruins one several games in a row as did the Celtics (I'm not a big basketball fan though).

GAGNE REMINDS ME OF JORGE JULIO OUR CLOSER, HE CAME FROM ARIZONA AND IN THE FEW DAYS HE WAS HERE HE LOST 10 GAMES, THEN HE WENT TO ROCKIES AND LAST TIME I SAW HIM WAS ROCKIES VS PADRES, ROCKIES WINNING BY ONE, HE CAME OUT AND PITCHED FOUR BALLS TO THE FIRST BATTER AND NEXT PITCH BUM!!! HOME RUN, PADRES ON TOP IN A HEART BIT.

HOW COULD THE SOX TRADE ALEX GONZALEZ (SS) FOR LUGO? GONZALES WAS EXCELLENT IN THE MARLINS DEFENSIVELY, HE'S NOT MUTCH OF A BAT BUT SOMETIMES VERY OPPORTUNE (2003 WS GAME 4, WALK OFF HOME RUN) BESIDES, THE REX SOX COULD DO WITHOUT HIS BAT.

Lugo hasn't produced with the bat, and defense has been mediocre. Has anyone noticed that strange ritual he has where just before getting ready for the pitch, he takes his right arm, pulls at his jersey near his left arm, then looks at the pitcher with a really strange stare? What's that all about? sox are going to take this thing in 5. Poor Colorado has just sat around for too long, and they have cooled off.

For some reason I was watching this year. Its because the cliants at work have been watching and they got me started.

What a series. The Red Sox proved what they have been showing all season long; they are the best team in baseball. Man, they can't let Lowell get away as a free agent. That guy is great. He deserved the MVP award. How about that slide he made to score the first run last night? The catcher was in perfect position, Hawpe made a really good throw, but Lowell just made a terrific slide to avoid the tag.

Congratulations MJ, CB and all you others out there in Red Sox country. Enjoy the moment. Also, keep basking in the glow of your Patriots. Their string ends this Sunday in Indianapolis. Colts 19 (thanks to 4 Vinatieri field goals) Patriots 17.
