MJ is that the new fangled thing called a drill in your hand. *CB you are a great friend to have. *Together you do good work! *Bill Mc ;D *Here's a post from about a year and a half ago. *Seakindly was asking opinions on anchor pulpits *This was MJ's answer. *Time changes all.
I never Anchor!! I can't rember when the last time I did?? * But if I have to, what I do is throw the thing over the side, get it caught, then I hook it to my bow rope and let it go. Leaving the extra rope in the cockpit with me. * * When its time to pull the anchor I yank it till I get the bow rope, undo it and pull the anchor right into the cockpit with me. * might just have to use the anchor next week Cod fishing?? Wow that will be different. * |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

The pulpit is great! I see you decided not to cut the slot in the middle?

You should have seen it when he dropped my 5000 piece box of stainless hard wear on the ground!! :o I was picking up crap for a hour!! >:( It will never be organized again!! Really it was more like 200 pieces, but I told him I was going to say it was a ton!! ;D Today was also pick on wife day!! He thought that she was going to shoot me or something!! It was funny!! I don't think he will ever go out to eat with me again!! I was getting out of hand!! all in fun! Thanks again CB!! |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

Hey, MJ...if pullin' anchor chain back to cleat becomes pain, my buddy in Charleston uses a HEAVY-DUTY rubber bungee to secure chain back to cleat...snuggs that anchor up nicely and easy to deploy and store...no rattles... ;D...

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

		Anytime Bud.
MJ's boat is really starting to look pretty good. This was just another nice addition. We had originally planned on cutting the hole and going with a pulpit type roller but the stores didn't have them in stock and would be weeks to order one. This style works just as well without compromising anything. Now.................enough work, time to fish. ;) |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

Before it's all said and done, MJ's gonna wax his boat.

Copy paste what ever the quote you want and put between the sections. The other way is to hit the quote symbol in the reply window. It is in the bottom row next to last on the right, looks like a piece of paper with a arrow pointing to the right. You will end up with the same thing as above. Just copy paste as stated. Here we go again folks!! This is going to be another how do you post a picture thread! |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

WOW nice MJ I was wanting to do that on mine.....was wondering what to use though. Is that 3/4 starboard? Where does the rope and chain go after entering cabin, does it just hang into rope storage box? doesnt that get the cabin wet?
Also if ya dont mine shoot me sum measurement on that bad boy. ;D |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

		Good job guys!!! Damn nice.
So I have a few questions... inquiring minds want to know... 1. Did you slap some sort of goop, glue, or epoxy between the layers of Starboard? Or are they just bolted together? 2. What did you back that badboy with? I mean under the deck? I assume you used some sort of backing plate or a bunch of big washers. 3. What size bolts are those? 4. Is this going to double as a diving board? You guys are an inspiration in driveway ingenuity & invention. Starboard is great stuff. |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

No need to goop between layers. It's plastic! 3/8" carriage bolts backed with aluminum diamond plate inside. It'll hold my fatass. ;D 8)
New project begins tomorrow. Stay tuned. ;D |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

Yeah, we wanna see pics of MJ doin' a swan-dive offen his new anchor pulpit... :o ;D...

What are you going to do about your bow light? Just curious. Your finished pulpit is AWESOME.
	Great job Franco47 |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

He might go w/a split red/green in two seperate housings...I had to do that cause of trolling motor on bow... :)...
	 |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

Hey Rap, got any pics of the trolling motor? I've been thinking about adding one because of all the skinny water fishing here.
	 |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

Yeah...you gonna need one on that new CC...mines a Minn Kota Rip Tide AUTO-PILOT and has the little Co-Pilot control box...
Auto-Pilot is GREAT...set a heading, go to the back of the boat and put your lines out or whatever and you'll still be on that course instead of up on an oyster bed...for saltwater, you definately need the Rip-Tide...Co-Pilot is neat, but I wouldn't pay the extra $150 for it...didn't order it on mine, but it came w/ it anyway...didn't call 'em back and argue about it...V20 needs the 70lb thrust which is 24 volts so add $$ for 2 BIG batteries(mine are 31s)...and while you've got the $$$ valve open, get a Guest on-board charger to keep those bats HOT...well...now that I've spent $1000+ of your money, I'm feelin' a little SPENT myself...like old Deano used to say:"I goin' to da couch now!"... ;) ;D... 8)... Check out Galley for pics, Franco...can't deploy on trailer, so those are about as good as I can get just now... :D...lemme look in Photobucket and see if there's any better shots... Here's a TM shot...http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y90...n/Image003.jpg As you can see, center of bow-rail gotta go...onna CC, TM should mount sos it's angled over port gunwale, meaning replacing the bow light w/ one higher than TM or splitting like mine(it's only money) ::)...you'll need a good quality SS plug-in... ;)... Auto-Pilot "Dos and Don'ts: DO keep batteries HOT...they operate better DON'T ever lay it down w/ Auto-Pilot "ON"...electro-magnetic compass will continue searching for bearing and go CRAZY :o, which will make you CRAZY later... ::) :P... Get the long shaft...you'll need it in ruff water...TTFN... ;D... Oh yeah...when loading boat onto trailer and going over the bow to hook up, careful of your new 70lb thrust Norton Snagger... :-[...particularly if prop is still spinning... :o... |

 Re: Anchor Pulpit DONE!!

MAN RA!!! Ur my hero!!! I have often thought of a trolling motor on a 20, but figured you would need a 196" shaft to hit water from the bow of the beast.
Thats cool!! I can just see me bustin sum bream from the bow of a v-20 upriver somewhere. ;D |
