Motor pic
This is a picture of the motor and Bracket that is going to be put on my 1980 V-20. It is a 1995 115 Johnson Fast Strike that has never failed me and is still running strong. The bracket is a Stainless Steel Marine with an 18" set back. The boat is a 1974 Renkin that served me well untill I cracked the hull. I had her out in some pretty rough seas from time to time. She was a good one.http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...hanceMotor.jpg

Re: Motor pic
Did you extend the lower leg on that Johnson to 25", or did you buy it that way? Good looking motor and bracket. You better hope hammer doesn't see the pic of that bracket though. ;)

Re: Motor pic
Extension was added when I purchased the motor. Iwill post more pictures of this set up when I get them in digital format.

Re: Motor pic
Hmm, is the motor and bracket already removed. For safe keeping, have the motor/bracket hanging from a hoist. Just enough to back my pick up under her. Where do you live at again. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Re: Motor pic
Her are few better pics of the motor and bracket for all the picture hounds out there ;D.

Re: Motor pic

Re: Motor pic
Thanks Skools out. I willgive it a try later this week. Yes that was the Renkin. The hull has a crack that runs down 40 to 80% of the port side chine, and the transom had spider web cracks above the bracket. That transom was no where close to the beefieness of the V-20. Right now I have to get back to my jig saw puzzle AKA the cabin door that I found in pieces among the 2' of leaves. I will post pics on that later. ;D

Re: Motor pic
Sorry HAMMER, wish we lived closer together,
I would have come over and taken a look for ya. Living in an old house, I work on all my own heaters and stuff. I also have a really cheap heater guy that I call when I get stuck, sort of a friend of the family. Last time I called the guy, he rebuilt my heater and only charged me $60.00. |
Re: Motor pic
Heater bill was $400.00 big bucks :'( :'( :'(
Had to replce the pump. Wasnt pumping oil into the furnace. No more work on my V for awhile now. :'( |
Re: Motor pic
Ouch ! that hurts!, SORRY, I sure am glad i moved here to Flordia from Michigan, I rembember those winter bills
|
Re: Motor pic
That sounds pretty steep for that.
I am surprised that the service guy didn't cut you a break, being Lewes Police. Most of the service guys I know, usually have two or three used ones sitting around that they will sell for a fraction of the cost. |

Re: Motor pic
Nothin wrong with dreaming, see Willy's morning thread. ;D Hammer, sorry to hear of the problems, but at least ya got the heat back. ;)

Re: Motor pic
Wow I hate to see a repair bill like that!!
I have eletric heat, Now before you all go on a OMG thing, I have never been happier then I am right now with the heat!! 1 no furnace to ever repair!! 2 Never have to wait for the Oil guy and hope I have enought cash to pay him! 3 Eletric has a thermostat in every room! And there are like 10 baseboard heaters in this house, I have been here and I had a problem with just one, and all you do is take the screw holding it to the wall out, un do 2 wire screws and reinstall another. And hey if you don't have the $60 for the new heater thats ok cause there are 9 others working just fine. We only use the down stairs heaters in the kitchen Dinning and living rooms. The heat rises up the stairs and there is no need for the heaters to be on up there. 10 years we have never used the one in the bathroom, or my bedroom. My daughter has 2 outside walls and has the coldest room, and she rarley turns the heat on unless we have a few days of singal numbers which we are having right now. My eletric is cheaper then any house I had before that had gas, or oil, and had to pay 2 and some times 3 bills. And if the power goes out for any leanth of time, I have my camper about 40 feet away with 2 full tanks of gas, w/ gas heat , gas stove, gas fridge, and full battery power to run the blower. 14.1* right ow out side and 68.4* inside :D |
Re: Motor pic
Glad to hear Baseboard heaters have progressed that much...the ones I had 20 yrs ago caused my power bill to be more than the rent I's payin' back then :o ...but the house wasn't well insulated either...see-thru walls ::) ...

Re: Motor pic
Actually, electric heat is the most efficient.
I had the argument with my Vo-Tech teacher on this subject and every argument I had, he shot holes in each and every one. If your hose is insulated properly, all the heat from the elements is delivered inside the home. Oil and gas burners send *usable heat up the flue with the exhaust. I even had the argument about the heat given off by the supply wires, that heat is still inside the house. MJ, have you ever figured how much you pay in extra electric during the heating season? I wonder how it compares to my $1500.00 to heat two houses? |
Re: Motor pic
I have never figuresd it out cause I am on the budget thing were the bill never changes all year.
Here on Cape Cod we pay the higest bills in the state! I pay for a year $2900 for the eletric. That is for the heat, hot water, washer & dryer, dish washer, Stove, 2 fridges, bait frezzer, Air inthe summer, TV (4), computers (3), and all the other things that mke the house go round. And with gas and oil think about the long term, maintance, repair, and replacement cost. I love my eletric! :-* |
