Re: Look mom, no rail!!
Stinkey,
New lights look just fine. Do you want to get rid of those old ugly and corroded rails? |
Re: Look mom, no rail!!!
They look good!
I would do that but I think they would not last long after I stuff the bow into a wave!! :'( I seem to do at least once a year!! I do have to get some new running lights this year, I lost the middle one when I added the pulpit. |

Actually the rail and mounts are in pretty good shape...Ill get rid of em..u want? |
Re: Look mom, no rail!!!
Stinky, how you mount the lights ?
Get a close up shot if you can. Looks good. Been looking at lights myself. Question on lights. Are you able to have your lights on at night when moving or are they for docking only ? |
Re: Look mom, no rail!!!
Hammer, lights are mounted to a piece of Aluminum "T" that I had laying around. I just cut the ends off at a 45* and rounded them over...cut a notch in the middle for the anchor roller and threw some stainless bolts in it...this way I can remove it easily later.
Yes I run with them on at night, but of course flip em off for any oncoming boaters to prevent blinding them. This is rarely a problem for me as there arent usually many others out there...people are afraid of the dark ya know. ::) Ill get some pics later. |
Re: Look mom, no rail!!!

Re: Look mom, no rail!!!
Wondering how you ran the wires through the top of the bow. Just drill a hole and caulk or do a differnt way.
Oh wait, the wifey just walked by and her high beams are on. Forget, I dont need these lights after all. ;D |
Re: Look mom, no rail!!!
I put heat shrink down the wire for about 16". I drilled a hole just big enough that it fit through the cap tightly. Then a lil 5200. ;)

Re: Look mom, no rail!!!
thats how we did the light wire on my friend's Whaler, ran the wire under the rub rail insert down the side of the boat till we got to the area we wanted to come back in.
