Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
What do you think,
can I do it? http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...chorsetup1.jpg And this will be my windless setup: http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...nchorsetup.gif Or have I just been taking in too much of that second hand funny smoke? |
Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
I say go for it. I'll help as well. i always wanted to cut into a V with a chain saw like STINKY does. ;D

Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
June 2nd, I'll bring my chainsaw. ;D

Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
Looks good, and I am sure it will work good,
But the way the V pushes water I bet it will shoot up that hole and in a heavy sea I bet it will pull you from the drag of the water pushing up there. Nopoe I no think its a good idea! But go for it if you want, I could be wrong? Take lots of pictures! ;) |
Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
With that flair I fear MJ is correct. :-/

Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
I don't think that it will work. If you want something a little different, you could do it like the Southport 28:
http://www.southport-boatworks.com/p...hor%204828.jpg Even this would take a little work, but it would be a cleaner install and look sharp I think. |
Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
That looks like a nice setup,
but really, I am not that ambitious and I will go with a normal pulpit. I will make my own when the time comes. |
Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
You could put one on both sides, then the water drag would be even. Better get an enclosure if you dont have one, it will be a wet ride, but entertaining to people watching from other boats.

Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
If ya REELY wanna diminish the resale of yer "V", do it ;) ...
|
Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
I really will NOT do it.
With a little bit of design work, I could make it work, it would be expensive to rig it up, I figure about $2500.00 - $4000.00. The parts list would include stainless steel tubing in the 4 inch OD range, Stainless steel collors and blocks, screws, glassing supplies, etc. etc. etc. |
Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
you could get another V for that!!
|
Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit
How ofen do you use your anchor?

A setup like the one I propsed would be good for somebody who is retired (Willy) and can take the boat out every day. Maybe when I retire in 10years, I will do something like that. |
