Instead of an Anchor Pulpit

What do you think,
can I do it?

And this will be my windless setup:

Or have I just been taking in too much of that second hand funny smoke?

Looks good, and I am sure it will work good,

But the way the V pushes water I bet it will shoot up that hole and in a heavy sea I bet it will pull you from the drag of the water pushing up there.

Nopoe I no think its a good idea! But go for it if you want, I could be wrong?

Take lots of pictures! ;)

I don't think that it will work. If you want something a little different, you could do it like the Southport 28:

Even this would take a little work, but it would be a cleaner install and look sharp I think.

That looks like a nice setup,
but really, I am not that ambitious and I will go with a normal pulpit.

I will make my own when the time comes.

You could put one on both sides, then the water drag would be even. Better get an enclosure if you dont have one, it will be a wet ride, but entertaining to people watching from other boats.

Re: Instead of an Anchor Pulpit

I really will NOT do it.

With a little bit of design work, I could make it work,
it would be expensive to rig it up, I figure about $2500.00 - $4000.00.
The parts list would include stainless steel tubing
in the 4 inch OD range,
Stainless steel collors and blocks, screws, glassing supplies, etc. etc. etc.

I only anchor 3 -4 times a season.

A setup like the one I propsed would be good for
somebody who is retired (Willy) and can take the boat out every day.

Maybe when I retire in 10years, I will do something like that.

Good move. I'd be afraid the anchor would beat it's way thru the hull.
