Since it has finally warmed up here to above freezing, I got under the cover to fiddle around a bit!!

1st pic: Shows the starboard frame I made for the helm.

3rd pic - i took off the rear bulkhead door to either replace or refinish. I'll probably install a hatch there.

Nice job of photo taking with the boat under wraps! Your cabin doors look new and is that a tackle locker on the port side of the bulkhead? Bill Mc ;D

The doors are original, just took em off and sanded/oiled them.

That is a tackle locker on the port bulkhead. Its a Tempress and I need a new door for it. I cant seem to find one yet.

Fillet - your boat looks great. I like the full transom with the in floor baitwell.

If you need a new temptress hatch there are a few on ebay. Not sure what size you need.

Fillet...hey man your dash looks GREAT 8)....that FULL transom is the deal...

Suggestion...if box under lounge is sturdy, remove seats, add lid(coverd w/vinyl), put swivel seat forward...keep that storage space in the box....just an idea :)...

Bigshrimpin - thanks for the links - the first one is what I need, but I have to double check the size.

RAP - that is a good idea. But for today at least, ;) I am thinking that i just want another pedestal and seat. I like the clean interior look of Seabird's 85 in the gallery. The only lounge that I can find that has a 16 inch base is over $300.00.

Anyone know where I can get a seat that matches my helm seat?

I am also looking for the threaded knobs for the ends of the seat swivel/slider. I just took the whole assy apart and rebuilt it.

Yeah, I'm w/you on the clean look of 2 pedistals...if I hadn't needed fuel capacity, I'd have gone the same route...

Your helm seat doesn't show much in photos above(I'll look in the gallery), looks like Todd seat from a few years back....just looked in Boaters World, West and Bass Pro master cats and didn't see 'em, but I'll keep an eye out...

Your boat's comin' along great 8)....

I couldnt find any Manufacturer's marks on it other than an "M" serial #? If you look in my "new member" there is a pic that may show the seat, but not with much detail.

I want the seats to match if I go the pedestal route. If I cant find a match then I am looking at buying two new seats, one that needs a pedestal and spider, the other to fit the existing one. That scenario becomes a $400.00 deal which is more than the right size lounge.


I did see that Fpmarine has a bunch of seats etc cheeep! I may call down there and see what they have in a matching set.

Maybe next year I'll trade in my 115 and get me one of those nice shiny Hondas!!! ;D

Your boat looks great. The rod boxes look AWESOME! Do you still have the stern seat? I noticed the hardware for it in the deck. I have mine, it is sitting in my shed. I'm mixed on it, I left it out all of last season and really liked all that cockpit room. And if you need extra seating, there is PLENTY of room for a couple folding deck chairs.

On the prop issue, for what it's worth I use the 13-3/4" x 15" aluminum prop for my 112hp Sea Drive. The 13-1/4 x 17 wasn't getting me anywhere near 5000 rpm.

Thanks CT...those rod holders work well there 'cause they're so accesible...the floor bracket you're seeing just forward of the splashwell is actually for mounting a tow bar w/a swivel head on top...my 13 & 15 yr old girls love for me to sling them all over the lake on a big tube...they look like a couple of Rodeo Clowns flyin' thru the air... ;D

I dont have the stern seat - and I wouldnt use it if i did!!

I do have to fill the holes in the stainless deck mounts cause they drain through to the bilge. I will probably tap the holes and thread a ss screw in, or be lazy and silicone it. If I remove the mounts then I have ten holes to fill!!

What kind of real world spped do you get with the sea drive at what RPM?

F1 - I have a lounge seat like yours on the port side. I hate that damn contraption. It is starting to rust and it stores dirt and leaves and crap. Also it is a PITA to get to the fishbox beneath.

You should look at my seat pics in my gallery. The helm seat is a seat in front, and in back it is a cushion on a hinged lid to the livewell beneath. This is a nice setup, because it allows easy access to the livewell. Unfortunately, the space under the helm seat is inaccessible dead air. It would have been nice if the livewell had run under both seats, like the fishbox on the port side. I may cut a hatch into the bottom of the helm seat to reclaim this space for handy storage.

When my port lounge gets a bit more beat up, I think I will change it to a seat like the one on the helm side.

Just some food for thought. Love that full transom ya got there, and the blue tint is cool too. 8)

Fillet. I only get about 5k rpms WOT on the Sea Drive with the smaller prop but it's a 20 yr old motor (brave thing) so I don't know if it's a great benchmark. I left my hardware for the aft seat as is in case I ever want to use it again. I leave the boat in the water with a cover and have never had a problem since the holes are slightly higher than the deck itself. I just bought myself a GPS at the Hartford boatshow last weekend, so this season I'll be able to provide some mph statistics.

F1 - It would not be hard to make the structure itself, out of plywood and glass. Even easier for you, since you would probably use it for storage instead of a livewell. Then just add a seat. That is what I would do before I would pay 300 bucks or more for that. I'd rather use that money for somethin I can't make, like electronics or fuel.

I am sure that he gets in the low 20's for curz speeds??

I had a 165 hp I/O and top speed with that was like 28 to 30 knots and and curzed at like 22 to 25 knots.

My 175 now curzes nice at high 20's and I can top out at 35 to 38 knots.

RaP - isn't that what you did for the boxes that hold your fuel tanks?? It is really easy to do with plywood and glass. The trick is to really round your corners before you glass.

The fancy way is to do it without wood in the finished product, but with molds like our fearless leader, bigshrimpin. * 8)

Yeah, SK...but mine is wood and vinyl...haven't slid around the glass learning curve yet... :P

And BS went thru the process and the bracket he worked on...one day, maybe, but other irons in the fire now...
