Boat is in finally
Dunked her in today. Took a little run out across the bay and into the inlet. The wind was blowin up a pretty nice chop and really was getting nasty. The boat ran better and faster then I expected with the 115 on the back. I got 26 knots max at about 5200 rpm by gps.
Here are a few pics at the marina: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1/DSCF0028.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1/DSCF0026.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...1/DSCF0029.jpg |

Re: Boat is in finally
NICE BOAT,
I HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS IF YOU DONT MIND. DID YOU ADD THE WIPER? ANY PROBLEMS WITH WHERE YOU MOUNTED THE GPS ANTENNEA? WHEN WE GOING FISHING? FRANCO |
Re: Boat is in finally
Boy that '86 is one FINE looking boat - best vintage for the V-20 I'd say ;D!
|
Re: Boat is in finally
CT - Thanks. Its an 85! ;D But Like I sid before its identical to yours down to the boot stripe. Therefore, i'd have to agree with your statement. ;)
Franco, No Probs with the GPS Ant. It works well (has a nice open view of the sky there) , doesnt leak, and I dont stand too much on the foredeck so its not in my way. The wiper was there when I got the boat and is inoperable. Its so small it would be worthless to use even if you are as short as I am (5 six). Unless you like crouching over to see out of the bottom 5 inches of the windshield in the sloppy stuff when bending over isnt a good idea. :o Rain X is the way to go for me. I want to remove the wiper and fill the hole. I'm ready to wet the lines when you are!! 8) |
Re: Boat is in finally
THANKS FOR THE REPLY, GOT A NEW GPS COMING - LOOKS LIKE A GREAT PLACE TO MOUNT THE ANTENNEA. I'LL DISREGARD THE WIPER IDEA, I LIKE RAINX TOO.
FRANCO |
Re: Boat is in finally
D'oh! For some reason I thought yours was an '86 as well. ??? I still use my wiper, but you do have to get yourself in a silly position for it to be worth anything - I even have an operable one on the port side. I was going to look into a bigger blade this season. Speaking of worthless items on the V-20, does your horn work? Mine doesn't.
|
Re: Boat is in finally
dont have one of thos either, I have the gas in a can type
|
Re: Boat is in finally
Sorry to butt in , my horn works but I too have a hand held just in case I need to be heard. Bill Mc ;D
|
Re: Boat is in finally
CT -
The horn works, but I also have the backup air horn. I think its a coat guard reg to have a non electrical sound signaling device? |
Re: Boat is in finally
I just keep an air horn handy...don't worry 'bout boat's... ;)...
got a windshield wiper couple of years ago after fishin' in the rain all day...still in the box... ::) ...it's ALL good... ;D... |
Re: Boat is in finally
Fillet, Nihice, That boat is pure.

Thanks. I posted a thread about the pulpit earlier and I had the actual dimensions. Its teak. Its mounted with carriage bolts. Look for the earlier thread for the info!! |
Re: Boat is in finally
I have been trying to find that post but can't??
But I remember that it was 36 long X 12 wide X 2 thick Mine is 2 feet long X 9 inches wide X 1 1/2 thick Starboard You can see mine here http://www.wellcraftv20.com/cgi-bin/...num=1114205135 I will keep looking for fillet1 , Its not in a thread titled pulpit so its going to be a little tuff to find? |
Re: Boat is in finally
|
Re: Boat is in finally
Here the info:
The Material is 1 and 3/4 inch thick 11 7/8 wide 3 ft 1in long 13 inches of it overhang from the edge of the fordeck (not the rubrail) The back edge (nearest the sliding hatch) is beveled at an angle. The bevel is 3 inches wide. Look for a thread entitled "BOW PULPIT"" |
Re: Boat is in finally
hey thanks i saw the starboard pulpit but i think yours is stronger and it does look better then the starboard
yours is definatly stronger i think they both look real nice maybe i will attempt it thanx |
Re: Boat is in finally
If you like wood then his is the way to go!!
I hate the up keep of wood so I went with maintenance free starboard. As for how strong they are, Well I would say that the starboard is much stronger then the wood, maybe twice as strong! But that said I think we are both over kill! It will take alot to pull either one of them to break!! Got to remember the boat has a lot of give bouncing in the waves and then the rope stretches also! What ever one you use will be a great addition to your boat!! |
Re: Boat is in finally
The bow pulpit post is on page four of the general section. *Bill Mc ;D
