F1...how much trouble to get a pic w/ the hatch closed...how do you like this unit...is it well made...does everything fit well and work well... ;D...

Re: Built-in Tackle Hatch posted?...

For $200 it had better!!

I have a set of smaller liners with covers, I might make my own with plano boxes??

MJ, Call me on this before you do anything. Working tonight. We'll talk tomorrow. ;)

Re: Built-in Tackle Hatch posted?...

MJ, what I like about F1's unit is the open drawers...if you got Plano boxes you gotta pull 'em out, sit 'em down some where, open the lid, close the lid, then put it back in the hatch...in a rolling sea or any other time, I'd rather pull an open-top drawer out and push it back in...DONE...the one I got now is like that, only it doesn't have that deep drawer in the bottom...I need that for some other stuff... ;) ;D...

Fillet 1...did you buy yours off the net or find it in a store?...

MJ... i just noticed...you gotta put "Sweet Thing" back...I miss her bouncing and bouncing...and bouncing... :) :D ;D...

Re: Built-in Tackle Hatch posted?...

good point RAP, saw some of these at Flounder Pounders and Marine connection with the plano boxes. Almost bought them. Didn't think about the drawer. But they do have some that are only 8" deep from the flange, on models with a full liner ( like my 83 cuddy) you could mount it in the gunnel, in front of the rod boxes. We just gotta convince MJ to quit his job and making Starboard parts for V20 owners. You know, bow pulpits, tackle lockers, hatches.........

Re: Built-in Tackle Hatch posted?...

Funny you say that about in the gunwale...I was just thinkin' about where to put my old one when I put the new one in...I THINK it's deeper than 8"...thanks for the idea... ;D...

Re: Built-in Tackle Hatch posted?...

RAP,

It came with the boat, i didnt buy it. I had to buy a new door for it because the original had a broken plastic hinge. That was 60 bucks. It is very convenient. Its well built if all plastic means well built to you. :P

Knowing that it is 200 bucks, i dont know if i would buy one, but i havent seen anything else with the big drawer in it for any price.

Here is the closed pic:

I will give you a hint!

It goes in the boat, but has nothing to do with boating ???

MJ has coolers like a mangy dog has fleas. But I like the way you think. ;D

??? :)

macojoe 04-30-2005 04:55 PM

Re: Built-in Tackle Hatch posted?...

what you mean??

It has nothing to do with boating, you don't need it for boating, it dosen't help or hurt the boat, if you had no boat you could use one like it.

And then picking on my coolers!! I only have a few!!

And I no drink, so I no need a 30 pack, cooler.

I just throw my drinks in with the fish gut any way!! :o
