Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
THAT'S why ya NEVER tie up a boat w/a low transom OUT!!...I'll bet if he had turned that V20 around w/the bow facing the open water he would have avoided havin' a BAD day...notice even the larger boats beside him are ''bow-out''... ;)...

Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
your right but i would like to know what year the v20 is i think i know but im not saying it yet i want to here from you guys

Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
I took the pic and zoomed it in and it's a 1987 thru 1991 Johnson V6 Looper either a 185 a 200 or a 225 HP.

Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
the boat is a late seventies... note the wide transom.

Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
Yeah it's at least a 1978 or newer. It has the belly tank and side rod holders it looks just like my 78 but mine floats lol.

Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
Could high water / not enough slack in the lines have been the cause? There are other pictures on the board that show water just over the bulkhead on the right side of the picture.
Maybe not, it looks like a floating dock. |
Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
ok i gave you all a chance so this is what i think
now follow me ok its a 1978 and i know because i own 1 But how do i know check out the bow rail the ends bend down and the only year that i know that they did that was in 1978 if im wrong please let me kno im so smart i really know my boat |
Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
Step, check out the side windshield...where it comes to a point in back...does your 78 gunwale go straight back after the windshield or remain raised for about 18 or so inches?...
|
Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
My guess was a 79, it doesn't have the hatches on the transon or splashwell so it has to be pre 82' or so.

Re: Sunken V-20 & Recovery
Pipe, I hear the ''fetch''...don't know what sunk that boat, but I DO KNOW to moor my little old 20'' transom toward the bank rather than toward where even the wake from a 30'er bein' piloted by a moron could sink the boat (you've seen the clowns who like to ride around w/their hulls onna 45 degree angle, kickin' up a 4' wake! ::))...
Hey Pipe...''wore her out'' this mornin'... ;)... |
