LEANING POST?

hey guys, the helm on these things looks awful low... does anybody run standing up or leaning or do you have to sit? if you stand do you have to stretch to reach the wheel?

Re: LEANING POST?

i usually drive standing mine is just right at the top of the wheel or use your Nortons to hold the wheel if you're MJ.

Re: LEANING POST?

I prefer to sit but visibilty becomes a problem if it is choppy, my windshield wiper does not work and any salt spray fogs up that windshield quick, a convertible leaning post seat would be nice I think, look right over the windshield, I have to crane my neck to do that now

Re: LEANING POST?

Depends on the weather...COLD, I'm down BEHIND the windshield!!...not cold, I'm sittin' w/a cushion on the seat or standin'...6'4'' and no problem reachin' the wheel here... :)...toss the Nortons over the left shoulder ...clears access to throttle...

Re: LEANING POST?

Weather permitting, I usually stand with the seat slid all the way back and have no problems reaching the controls.

Re: LEANING POST?

The throttle business was a bit of a stretch...they won't reach over the right shoulder for some reason... ::)...

Re: LEANING POST?

After years of slaming while driving standing up, my nortons hit the floor now!! :o
So Now i tend to sit, unless CB is with me, then he is th offical norton holder!! :-*

In your dreams MJ. Only in your dreams.

Mj has obviously taken one to many hits from the Hooka, because he seems to be tripping.......................... ::)

I prefer standing and removed the flipback cooler seating from my center console and installed the leaning post shown in my gallery. Todd Industries makes a single pedestal leaning post that is interchangable with pedestal type seats. ;)

This way, you're not commited to one or the other.

Re: LEANING POST?

I prefer to drive while standing, no problem reaching the wheel. But as RAP said, if it's cold me and my nortons are tucking behind the tucking windsheild.

Hey M.J.... the nortons on the floor thing creates a nasty visual man. Hanging down like two 32oz. MOJO's?

Yeah, but w/that thing thru the sterring-wheel spokes, doesn't it SCRATCH the dash up when bustin' waves? ???...

Re: LEANING POST?

Tube socks my friend. They keep things warm and protect against scratching. ;D

Re: LEANING POST?

just buy this and make us all some. 8) Or just buy it and ship it to me lol I'll make you one for the mold lol. ;D

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FIBER...spagenameZWDVW

You are bidding on a used fiberglass mold for making a boat leaning post seat . The outside of the box is 48” x 15” x 6 ˝”with an inside storage section that’s 41” x 9 ˝” x 5 ˝” . The inside is make with tooling gel coat . Your aluminum frame work would fit inside for support . Its in great shape but needs to be cleaned and compounded . You can use this to make as many parts as you need with this . Due to the size of this , it would have to be shipped as an oversize # 2 package or can be picked up . This weighs 47 lbs and the outside mold measures 53 1/2" x 20 1/2" x 8" . Click on calculator for shipping costs . See my other items for more boat stuff . I add new things every day and combine shipping .
