Re: Seen better days
....I don't need a windshield, but if I did, I would email that guy since it appears his beloved V20 didn't sell for the whopping $675 asking price.

Re: Seen better days

Poor old girl :'(
|
Re: Seen better days
THAT'S NO '72!!...take another look, guys...somebody could get 'em a NEWER than advertised V20 (belly-tank and flotation) ;)....check out the dash-board shot...might be an '82, but shore ain't a '72... :)...
|
Re: Seen better days
I was just going to say that reel!! Thats a 82 I bet!! They did no make the cuddy doors back then or the pass side rail.
To Bad she was left to get like that!! What a shame. :'( |
Re: Seen better days
Good eyes, guys! Seeings as how you both caught that I think you should go rescue her!
|
Re: Seen better days
Pipe, I wish I could...as I've said B4, luv my '74, but if I was to do it again, it'd be one w/a belly tank and flotation...if I wasn't starin' down a double barrel of college tuition, I'd go get it and do what you did w/yours... ;) 8)... that'd be the perfect hull to trash the I/O, add a bracket and a 200 or 225 E-Tec, MJ Style pulpit and a rigid ''soft'' top... 8) 8) 8)...
|
Re: Seen better days
Mirage, If you want to, call them up and offer 500, you go get it and I'll give you 300 for the hull, you keep the trailer.
|
Re: Seen better days
C'mon, Phatdaddy...is your real name Monty Hall?... ;D...really though, sounds like a win/win to me... ;) :D...
|
Re: Seen better days
Hey PhatDaddy,
I'd be willing to take that deal. I'm about 3 hours away and could use the trailer. I also have a really rough 2 axle I'm using now that I'd give you to tow the boat back to your place. It has good bearings but everything else needs work. Thanks, Buenos |
Re: Seen better days
1972 is the year before HIN's were required by the coast guard to be issued to hulls. My guess is that this boat won't have a HIN stamped on the hull and will probably have a generic state title (if any).
|
Re: Seen better days
Post recently showed a V20 that swamped/sunk at the dock...somebody noticed how the rail turns down sharply at the windshield and named the year it did that...looks like this one does the same... :)...
That was Step...says the rail did that on his '78...sooooo..... |

Re: Seen better days
I was thinking that this boat was probably stolen at some point and the HIN was sanded off. Someone just applied for a homemade title (for some state and title the boat as 1972 which doesn't raise any eyebrows unless you know that this v20 was clearly built after 1972).
|
Re: Seen better days
I emailed them and asked for the HIN and here's his reply
Please give me a call if you would like to discuss the boat. Thanks in advance, Jonathan at 228-424-2900 |
Re: Seen better days
Skools...does your dash and cockpit layout look like that one...particularly the ''raised'' top on the left side of the dash...that's pretty distinctive... ;)...
Hey Skools...went back and looked at your Gallery...cockpit and dash configuration IS the same...I theen YOU RIGHT ;) ;D... |
Re: Seen better days
Buenos, I'm in Panama City Fl. Where are you located?
|
Re: Seen better days
Hey,
I live in Columbus, MS. I am on vacation in Myrtle Beach right now. That is why I haven't seen the posts. I'd be willing to give the guy a call when I get back in town on Sunday. Later, Buenos |
Re: Seen better days
Call the guy and let me know. I was more interested if mirage would go get it and haul it back to fla. find out what he says an maybe we can get together, but don't buy banking on me taking hull.
