CA - v20 prices

http://adcache.boattraderonline.com/6/7/2/77277272.htm

$14k

These are crazy prices.
I'm watching to see how long it takes for this boat to sell.

WOW! :o

Re: CA - v20 prices

They're dreaming. I bet the owner's got some tally in his head about how much money he's put into the boat and come up with that figure. You never get that back. It will sell for what the market says, not the seller. That thing would only be worth $14k if there was a Honda 4-stroke with 30 hours on it.

But if it sells, I'm going to start a business fixing up V-20s and shipping 'em over to the left coast. ;D

I like that!! "Left Coast" ;D

Yeah, CPK - BUY EM FOR A BUCK APIECE IN FLORIDA. CHERRY THEM UP AND SELL EM FOR 10 GRAND EACH IN CALIFORNIA. :D

Re: CA - v20 prices

I live in central Florida. I could find some good buys for you guys if you'll split some of the profit when we sell them on the left coast. ;)

Re: CA - v20 prices

There ya' go. Take a page out of the reality-TV book. Every year, we'll all meet somewhere on the right coast for a week, refurb three, four, even half a dozen V-20s, working 24 hrs./day. Then ship 'em out to our intrepid forum host. But instead of doing it for ratings and the goodness of our hearts, we'll sell 'em for fun and profit. ;D

Re: CA - v20 prices

Hell, you can have mine and a big smooch for $13k!!!

reelapeelin 01-03-2005 11:41 AM

Re: CA - v20 prices

$14,000...missprint or cranial flatulance...methinks the latter ;D...it will be interesting to see how long it takes and how low he''l go...

If I could figger out how to get all the stuff you need to refurb these boats(especially hardware), it would be fun and profit... ;)

chesapeake724 01-03-2005 01:15 PM

Re: CA - v20 prices

True that, reel'. So we'll revise the strategy a little. We'll buy ten hurricane boats at $100-500, do the Frankenstein thing, and cobble together a handful of complete boats on the cheap. :)

Re: CA - v20 prices

I found a '93 V-21 in SC, with a 2000 150 Yamma on it for $11,300.00. I found a local surveyor to look at it...

The boat had a 2000 engine on it BECAUSE THE LOWER UNIT ON THE '93 GOT CLEANED OFF THE TRANSOM!!! Both corners of the engine mount "bumpout" were cracked from top to bottom and had a sh*^$y repair. I swear, this time NO MORE BROKERS! Looking at an '83 in Mass. this week....

Re: CA - v20 prices

Yep those Cali boys will pay a premium for the right boat.
The boat that sold for $17,000+ was located in Lodi, Ca. That is on the Sacramento Delta 200 miles from the ocean. Great place to boat and fish.
If I sold my 20 Fish for that I would almost break even ;)
The V21 and 20's are popular on the coast. I see them all the time.
Bring em out, just be sure they are pristine. Oh yeah, the window to sell boats in Calif. is May-Sept. Just happens to be the best fishing also.

See ya on the water.

Re: CA - v20 prices

Boat prices here in So. CA are up to par with the home prices. You would not believe the crap they sell out here for top dollar. I look at the boats you guys talk about on the east coast and gulf and really wonder if it would be worth it to drag em back here for re-sale. When I was looking for trailers for my V20 the prices were 4X what they are in Florida. The more amazing thing is that people pay the prices. I guess it's the price we pay for year round fishing without humidity.

Just because someone is asking a certain price doesn't mean it's worth that....Need to know what they SOLD for.

Skools Out 01-29-2006 01:37 PM

Re: CA - v20 prices

as i'ver said before we the owners control the worth of our boats. if we want them to be worth more then raise the asking prices everywhere and keep it high. then if someone wants one they have to pay the price.

Re: CA - v20 prices

Tin - I know of several v20's that have sold for upper teens in my area. All are in above average condition . . . I really think someone could make a business out of selling some of the better used east coast boats on the west coast.

reelapeelin 01-30-2006 09:19 AM

Re: CA - v20 prices

Sure works that way in the Custom Car business... ;D...

Motorhomes too, was actually thinking about bringing MH's out there to re-sell.

Tin - Let me know. I just started a cush new job at UC Davis and I've finally got extra some extra time now.

What would it cost to get a RV to the west coast (if it were towing a v20)?

Skools Out 02-01-2006 10:17 AM

Re: CA - v20 prices

in fuel you'd go broke average 5 to 7 mpg. At least mine is it get's 6 to 7 and it's a 35 ft PaceArrow. But pulling a boat that size say 3 to 4 mpg. ??? Ok 3000 miles to Calif. so at 5 mpg that's 600 gallons at say $2.50 average fuel cost would cost you around $1500 with the boat $2000 ???

Not to cheap on just fuel to move it.

bigshrimpin 02-01-2006 06:04 PM

Re: CA - v20 prices

I hear you skool . . . that's why everything is so damn expensive out here.

reelapeelin 02-02-2006 09:45 AM

Re: CA - v20 prices

...and there I was thinkin' it was cause everything had a coat of Tofu on it... ::) ;D ;D...

Ya know, Bigshrimpin...the LAND out there didn't get there by means of petroleum power...an' it's the HIGHEST PRICED stuff out there... ;)...
