new power

Got the new 2002 115 ficht ram DI Evinrude. A dealer had it - not sold. Got it on and tried it last night. It has lots of power; quiet and no smoke. Got a 15P aluminum prop on it at the moment. Does not look too small on the back. I wonder what sort of gas mileage I can expect?

gc I can't give you gph or mpg but the 115 should do OK. You are not going to be a speed merchant but to go cruising or fishing my guess is you will do fine. You'll have a sweet ride. My guess on cruise speed is around 22 mph. Let's us know how she runs. ENJOY! Bill Mc ;D

Yea what Mac said, I have a 99 Johnson 115 (carbed) installed new in 2001 as a left over purchase. Love it. Plenty of speed for me and crew even loaded up full tank and enclosure up. Cruise around 25, top out high 30's depending on load and conditions. Fish all day and uses very little gas compared to my prvious 150 six banger. My Armstrong bracket probably helps performance and efficiency a little but yours being Ficht injected will probably even that out. Enjoy, unless you are doing a bunch of water skiing with adults and the boat loaded up that is a good match for the V's for an all around motor with the cost of fuel today especially. Good Luck ;)

I hope so - here in Canada gas is $5.40 a gallon. Our imperial gallon is 1/5 larger but it is close to $5 a equivalent US gal. Last year with the 175 it cost me $20 every time I went a few miles over fishin in the evening and after awhile I quit that.

Re: new power

Last summer our price went up almost to $6 a gallon came down to maybe $4.50 over winter for awhile and now back up to $5 as of today. A few years ago we paid $4. Our gallon is 1/5 larger. Our dollar is worth 90 cents compared to yours. So if you came up here you get 10 cents on the dollar and a bigger gallon. But you still pay more I guess up here.
