The guy I spoke with on the phone was a great guy!! Very helpful!!

Everything was arranged in just a few min. Then with some info with BR I payed over the net and was good to go!!

$221.27 from there to here, not including pick up and weekends it 4 day delivery.

Thats from Business to Business, BR shiped from Dads place of work, and it is coming to Macojoes Chatters! ;D

First time I've been involved in shipping an outboard. It was fairly painless. Best thing is to shop around. The first price I got was $350!

BR, I need to get my engines ready to ship. Can you tell me how you crated the motor? Did you simply put it on a pallet and tie it down with rope or something?

Yea well don't use the co. I am using!! >:(

They have still not picked up my motor!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bygrace, the new 150 I bought came attached to a factory metal crate-type deal. I fastened it to that, then I put that on top of a wooden pallet and used metal bands to hold the metal pallet to the wooden pallet. Then I put a big cardboard boax around the motor and metal-banded that on. Then used stretch wrap around the whole thing. Make sure there are no extraneous/old shipping labels on any of the cardboard or boxes. Put a shipping label on all sides and stickers that say "DO NOT STACK" and "FRAGILE" all over it.

That's about it.

Here is a copy of a PM I just sent BR about the shipping!!

Don't use the Company I used!!

www.freightcenter.com They are a broker and work with 20 carriers, They take the best price from the 20, If you must use them ask who the carrier will be?? If the say Central Freight Lines
Pass and ask for a different carrier!!

I was pissed!!

The broker called the trucking co. and they said that they were having a hard time getting a truck near Denton cause it was 60 miles out of the way??

And that the Cape was 75 miles out the way??

I said this is a Co. that ships stuff cross country?? Did they set the price?? Did they except the job?
I no want to here there f**king excuses!!

He said you can still get the motor on Mon if I wanted to drive to RI to get it at the depot.

And what do I get for my money?? Thats 150 miles round trip, then at least 3 or 4 hours of my time, on a motor that should have been here Thursday!!

I said I am on a site with over 700 people needing to ship stuff, thats 700 potential costumers for you!! But after this, do you think I am going to recommend your Co.?

If I were you I be saying Mr. Gougeon your motor will be there tomorrow morning weather I have to fly it to Cape Cod airport myself in the rain during a Hurricane!!

Costumer Service sucks!! Called me right when it was picked up and was blabbering all over him self for the mess up.

O well it will be here Tuesday!! Thanks alot hanging in there with me!! And thank Dad also!! :-*

Well here is the update!

The motor did not come again today!! >:(

The Broker ferightcarrier.com has washed there hands of the deal!!

First I called and the guy said it was in RI and would be here today!

Then I got thwe tracking # and called the feright co. derict, they said its in LI. NY and will not be in RI till Fri!

then the Broker said

They said that they set up, and then its the trucking Co. case after that!!

What a ****ing fight I had with them tonight!! I said you took the money you set it up and I paided you!~ Yet there is niothing you can do?? Thats right says the guy!!

what about my 4 day delivery?? He says that is aproxment that there is no garr, unless you pay for one! But yet I was assured by them serveal times that it would be here in 4 days after pick up?

Thats when the **** started!! I said I was calling the Cerdit Card Co. and stoping payment! He said that they have there cash and started getting real nasty, which is the way I like it!! The gloves were off now!!

So end of story for now is that I will not gettill Mon or later cause the shipping co no come to the Cape everyday! and not sure when the next day will be??

So I am calling them in the AM to see if it is there, Telling them to hold it, I will be there to pick it up myself!!

I have never never had such a problem in my life!! And the Co. Just doesn't care!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MJ who did the Freight company use? they picked a piss poor company for yours. Mine was here in 2 days from MI to NC. Sorry you are having such troubles. >:(
