Been out in the V-20 everyday. It's been running great. Tops out at 40 but, sounds better at 30. I'm ready for a boat trip to the Keys. Got stopped by the feds looking for illegals. I told'm "I didn't have any today". They did not think it was funny. The Lt. told me to leave my sense of humor at home. :-[ |
Re: Somebody Post
Hammerhead, Great story. ;D
Willy, I been working 1800 hrs. to 0600 hrs. I'm the F.O.P. president. Been up all night working on a new contract. Do you get shift work pay for working nights ??. Nurses and security guards get it, but police here in lower slower Delaware dont :'( Trying to get a pension for the guys as well. Reel, didnt see the retrailering post, but I'll look for it. ::) |
Re: Somebody Post
Here we swing from 6am-6pm to 6pm-6am. Now Im on the pm to am shift. Ill be watching for post and doughnuts. Not suppose to drink coffee, a heart thing, but what the doc and old lady dont know!!
I dont like butting into others posts just to hear myself type but if I feel the need to add or ask, i'll jump in. will be getting new pics of my V20 and putting on photo bucket of some work I have done. Maybe you guys can stop by for bacon and eggs. |
Re: Somebody Post
Mike; 18:00-6:00 here too. We get @ 12% differential, plus another 13% for working the 12 hour shift. 8)
|
Re: Somebody Post
Thats nice cash Chum. Delaware is behind in the times big time.
|
Re: Somebody Post
Yea brother sounds like you guys got to rise up and slay some of the politicos, I don't get a night differential, but have an outstanding pension and it starts 20 yrs 50% no benefits, 25 years full pension 65% and full benefits max out at 30 years with 70 % one percent per year after 25 max 70% and benefits. I got 28 years and the Nov 8th election in the town will determine if I make Captain or put my papers in to retire March 1st 2007, I am not on the current political sleazeballs hit list, I didn't make to where I am by puckering up to him, instead by being number one on all the civil service promotional exams and being a veteran that they could not skip. So now they have the Captains job empty and have a couple of super suckers doing that job refusing to promote me. If the election goes good they will be making me Captain and expecting me to straighten out the unethical sh!thole it has turned into.
Should be a lot of fun. Either way will work for me, if I don't get the Capt. bars in January then I will leave with 68% of my pay and benefits and go to work for Reel Crabby Enterprizes Fla. ;D |
Re: Somebody Post
O.K. Here's one for debate.......
Krispy Kreme or Dunki'n Doughnuts? I'm a big KK fan I think the DD are too cakey. Don't get me wrong I'll tear up either one. Let's here it. |
Re: Somebody Post
I'm a D & D man all the way. I love my jelly donuts. Dont like the coffee though. I'm a WaWa man when it comes to coffee. ;D

Re: Somebody Post

Re: Somebody Post
I like DD and KK. But where I grew up there was a significant German influence, and local bakeries were THE thing. Nothing like that around here. As for coffee, it just needs to be strong and black.
Hey Reel, wait up -- I'm coming with you! |
Re: Somebody Post
without a doubt D&D! ;D Gits??? Why doesn't anyone eat them plain? ::)
|
Re: Somebody Post
I grew up on Danish pastries. None of them around here anymore.
Last time I had a jelly fillled donut at Dunkin the girl behind the counter kept giggling at me. I asked her what was wrong...she said "Nothing honey, you remind me of...." :-[ Wimins sure are bold these days. |

Re: Somebody Post
Pipe, did you grow up in Pennsylvania??
Here in my home area, Leesport/ Reading, Pa. there are so many local doghnut shops it's crazy. They beat KK & DD hands down. We also have a number of farmers markets with home made stands, there is nothing like home made sticky buns with walnuts. :P |

Re: Somebody Post
For me its K K all the way. Grew up with one in town and liked to watch them make um, then eat them while still hot. First time my wife tried one she said they were better then sex, ofcourse I have stepped up to the challenge and she dont say that any more.
CHEESE GRITS PLEASE and add some bacon. Easy reciepe, Plain Quaker instant grits, add some shredded sharp cheese and some of those artifical bacon bits, stir in boiling water and ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, (excuse me I had to clean the slobber off my keyboard), then dig in. You aint lived till you had some cheese grits and some cheese coffee. You wont find that at K K or D D. Add some shredded cheese in the bottom of you cup then pour in the coffee. Its a southern thing, but I am tring to teach it to these people around here. Getting ready to grab the camera now and take some pictures. |
Re: Somebody Post
Goetta is similar to scrapple.
Scrapple is pork with corn meal and spices. ;D |
Re: Somebody Post

Actually it is often compared to scrapple, but as one who has consumed a LOT of goetta and a little scrapple, I WAY prefer goetta. Ground pork and beef, and pin oats instead of corn meal, and spices. We have our own family recipe. ;) Another area specialty is Cincinnati chili. Nothing like it anywhere. Again, we have our own recipe (and it's really good with venison -- I call it Lowcountry Cincinnati chili!). I may have to git in the kitchen an rattle dem pots an pans this weekend. |
Re: Somebody Post
I love to cook almost as much as I love fishing. I cook everything and bicker when SHE cooks ;D What the hell is wrong with me?!?
|
Re: Somebody Post
Nothing wrong, I cook and she cleans.
I find it really relaxing at the end of the day. 8) |
Re: Somebody Post
Good thread, donuts, coffee and scrapple. Notice how Stinky didnt chime in ???. Now if womens panty thongs were spoken about, Stinky would be all over that thread. ;D ;D ;D
Where are you Brother Stink ;D |
Re: Somebody Post
I like to cook, too...matter of fact I've believed for some time now that there should be a COOKING SECTION on this board...several posts have mentioned cookin' Critters o' the Sea in some manner or another...got me to thinkin' about all the recipes and techniques floatin' around our little community here...it'd be great to share 'em... 8) 8) ...
Whadda ya'll think??... ;D ... |
