I believe, and just for the record, that Ocean Pro is Evinrude : Ocean Runner is Johnson

Thanks guys.

Your right my mistake Ocean Runner not Pro. It's surprising that a motor ten years newer than the 235 I currently have only weighs 36 lbs less.

The reason I was asking is that I decided not to rebuild my 235 and found a good deal a on a nice used one instead. I was hoping to shed more weight in the process though. But for $1600.00 with a 4 bladed stainless steel propeller, hydraulic steering cylinder , VRO tank and harness, I not going to argue.

Sounded like a great deal til ya got to the VRO tank...clean it out REEL good and make a fish-bowl outta it...anything but don't use it for it's designed and intended use ...no kiddin'...if ya want that motor to last, pre-mix that oil/gas and trash that VRO system ;) ;D ...

I will tell you what I will give you $1700 and let you keep the oil tank!! ;) ;D

No worries. A new VRO on its way. I agree premixing is the safe way to go but to much smoke for me when trolling :(

I've always had good luck with VROs on the engines I had up to now. Installing a new VRO pump will give me the comfort factor I'm looking for.

i dont understand i have VRO on my big boat and its the easyiest thing i do to the boat add oil to the tank every now and then its nice had the boat for 3 years and no trouble.

Re: 94 150 Ocean Pro Weight??

Is not the 3 years you have had, it the one time that the pump or something else isn't working! Thats when the motor goes boom and having a VRO pump isn't so important anymore cause there is no motor.

If you have a motor with a VRO still with warranty then you are the only one!!

They make oil injection still, but the old VRO's are no longer made.

Re: 94 150 Ocean Pro Weight??

my mechanic told me the same thing disconect it he said cause one day its just gonna stop

as I remember back in the early 90's I had a 15 ft whaler super sport with a 60 hp comerical evinrude and it had the vro built in the tank and it just stopped working and it cost me 1100.00 to get motor rebuilt :(
