1981 Gas Tank Capacity
 

Can anyone tell me how to find out the capacity of the gas tank for an 81 V-20 Step Lift? I jsut brought one home this afternoon and need to winterize it before the snow flies and I want to add a fuel additive but need to figure out how much fuel it holds to get the right ratio. Other than taking the rig to the gas station and pumping till it runs out the vent, is there any way one knows how to tell the size of the tank? Thanks in advance...

mines an 87 and Iam pretty sure its 60 gallons

Just read a thread on winterizing your boat. They say just dont pour in the additive. Once you pour it in, take the boat for a quick tow on the trailer, so you know for sure the additive makes it into the tank.

don't forget to run the engine after you take the boat for a tow, treated fuel won't help the carbs if its not in them

Hey fellows thank you very much. This confirmed my thoughts that it was a 60 gallon tank. So now all that's left is to treat it, tow it around the block and then wait till spring, can't wait either, my son and I both. Thanks again...
