Covers
Holy crap! I'm trying to locate a cover for my 78 Cuddy I/O. The last wind storm totaly wrecked mine. Any idea what size cover fits? The old one was a Wallyworld model that was ill-fitting. There are so many options as to size, it's overwhelming. What about going over the bow rails? None of the semi custom ones I see even address them. I could get a custom fit, but they are like $350. I need that cash to fix my outdrive. HELP! :'(

Re: Covers
40 footer?? I use the 25 X 10 Green, they are stronger then the blue!
Is this a off season cover?? Do you get snow there?? I built a frame out of wood before now its out of PVC and cover for the winter works great and if you tie the cover down tight you will get 3 to 5 winters out of one cover. In season covers cost$$$ But I have a friend that bought a Taylor cover for ok money and it has lasted pretty good for him. Do a search for Taylor Boat covers it will come right up. |

Re: Covers
Looking for a year round cover. We don't get much snow here, maybe once a year if that. I saw some Taylor Made covers on e-bay, but they make a point out of saying they are for a V-hull without a wide bow. That kinda leaves us out. I reckon I'll end up with a tarp. Dang-it!

Re: Covers
check Taylor Marine's web site, look around for the discontinued products, you may have to monitor it from time to time, but they general have some good covers for cheap, yoi have to wade thru the JetSKi covers listed, and try to find a boat that is simular to yours, but for the prices they sell, its worth it

Re: Covers
Frayed_Knot,
I got this one at Northern Tool for $134.00. It doesn't fit as great as I would like it to but very close. It would probably fit an I/O better. I am going to lay my back seat down this weekend to get a little more length out of it. I wanted this type vs a tarp because I want to be able to throw it on during the summer. Too many pine tree needles in my yard. It's meant for a 20-22 ft. It's a little short in coming down the sides up front when covering bow rails but think I can hold it down with some bungees also intend to do this weekend. If you think you might want to go this route I will be happy to take some more pics. Mine's and '88 v20 outboard. Paul http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l1...nketMedium.jpg |

Re: Covers
With my last two boats I had boat covers like in skpablo's pic. I think it is the best way I have spent money on a boat. Keeps it clean and protected. Mine had an elastic edged cover for the outboard motor. I tried using tarps but it was too much trouble!

Re: Covers
What's kind of cool is that the storage bag that the cover comes in serves as an outboard cover too.
Pik, yes this one is all elastic along the bottom edge as well. |
