Pics for Hammer

Well, I was hoping to get some work in on the V this morning. I need to get the inner liner out before I can really get anything else going. Unfortunatly it hasn't warmed up as much as I'd like so I figured I'd take a few Pics for Hammer.... Maybe he'll cut Randleman a little slack for the next 5 minutes ;D

I get the feeling I'm doing this the hard way....

Well, it's warmed up some and I got to it! Unforunatly the more I get to it, the worse it gets! Previous owner(s) did their fair share of butchering this poor boat and now I'm paying the price... The foam I found earlier is most likely the work of a "handyman" ... I've found more of it and it doesn't appear anyone put iny thought to the fact that they were blocking the drainage of the bilge leaving any water that got through their horrible patchwork nowhere to go....expect to be absorbed by the foam.... now it's nasty!

This is where someone cut the center out to put in the foam... I think this is adding to my greif in getting the inner liner out

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...n/DSC00028.jpg

This is the center.... I didn't have to cut anything, I simply pried it out.... With as much as I'm using the crowbars on this boat I might need to change my username to "crowbar"....and/or make that the name of the boat...

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...n/DSC00032.jpg

Here's the crap I got out from it...

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...n/DSC00027.jpg

This is where a previous owner cut out the front of the cuddy so they could put those hoses in as well as foam as much as they could reach... Fortuantly that foam was dry...

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...n/DSC00029.jpg

Last but not least, here is the makeshift brace they used... It looked like they used 3" drywall screws and they filled in the heads of the screws, but didn't seal around the cut... Again, liberal use of crowbar required... Of course that just added to the list of things I'll have to fix!

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...n/DSC00030.jpg

At least I have more pics!!!

Hey Reel, at this point I'm going for a boat that will float... Once I get this thing apart and see what I really have to work with I'll figure out how much I want to do is daydream'n vs what's realistic... ;D

I'm in the boat for $500. I've got a couple hundred in some materials and lots of hours in labor with far more to come... :-/

Trailer I bought seperatly and if things go south w/ boat, will be sold seperatly.... But that's plan "Z" :o

I'm planning on closing the transom in. I just have to figure out how I want to modify the cap. I'm thinking the current splashwell would make a great place for a live baitwell... More daydreaming at the moment ::)

Well, I guess I'll go bang and pry on the boat some more. 8)

I found that my V was just setting on the stringers and that it poped out pretty easy. Why did you have to cut up so much of the inner liner before removing it. I used a pulley in a tree with a truck and just lifted it out and pused the trailer and bottom of boat out from under.

Think JeffX found that all the sprayed in foam, may have glued her together, making a theseperation more of a pain.

This whole task started as a transom repair. That's why the back of the liner is cut out (and it was my first time ::) ) The more I looked, the more I didn't like the rest of what I saw. Especially the foam because what I could get my hands on was soaked and nasty. This was mainly due to whoever put the foam in cut out a section of the floor between the seats and didn't do a good job putting it back together.

The two sections that have the 2x4s sticking out of them I cut because that's the area with the most and wettest foam which was acting almost like glue.

As for lifting it out, I don't have a tree to use, but I'm working on a solution. ;D

What I was asking about is that it looks as if you have cut the whole rim that goes around the top of inner liner. Its the section at the top of the inner liner that turn out then down where it screws into the hull.
