Re: day one of prep
Man that's too purty to put back in da water.
|
Re: day one of prep
Hey Lumber looks good 8) I was wondering shouldnt you leave a little space between the motor and the paint or is that only with the older type bottom paints?
|
Re: day one of prep
mulv,
Ive never heard of anything like that..... not sure. |
Re: day one of prep
Lumber, thats one fine job. ;)
|
Re: day one of prep
Lumber, *I know with the older bottom paints the copper in the paint would conduct with the aluminum in the motor. The aluminum would end up being eaten away by the reaction. I think with the new paints they are held together by newer bonding agents so I don't think you have to worry.

Re: day one of prep
I will ask the owner at the marina , I used interlux micron it was nice paint good for two seasons ... so I dont have to do it next yr ;D

Re: day one of prep

Re: day one of prep

|
Re: day one of prep
Was looking at my rub rail and noticed how a few of teh screws backe out from the underside of teh rope. Thought that was a bit odd. Another future job. :o

Re: day one of prep
Dam Lumber, that is one purty boat.
I forget do you keep it in the water for th efull season or do you trailer? My question is because of the two seasons before recoat? |
Re: day one of prep
parish, I do keep it in the water till nov 15th so I thought this was the rite way to go
|
Re: day one of prep
Thanks, isn't the internet great,
we can have this conversation even though I am in Valencia, Venezuela this week. |
Re: day one of prep
Looking Good!!
Let me know when the rub rail is done, I will be there to pick it up and drop your real boat off (mine) you can start over so you don't get boared! |

The barrier coat you applied will prevent the galvanic corrosion between the paint and aluminum. |
