You can actually wear out a Stainless prop...

REELY, you can. I have no idea how old my prop is, but she is plumb wore out. I've been watching it for a while, but it is getting time to replace it. The blade tips are so thin, they are like razor blades. Tonight I notice that the blade tips aren't all there anymore. I suspected this because she just won't hang on through the trim range like she used to, that, and she's acting reel squirrly with the tabs now. Hmmm, guess I need pics to prove my point. I'm working on it ::)

The weather coulda been better, but it was a great weekend. *And the fish finally cooperated, so all is good in the world. *Now my fishing partner, he's another story. *Ya see, he missed the first day 'cause he was still vacationing at Paradise Island in the Bahamas ::) *Day two he was to meet me at the dock at 5:30. *He even emailed from the Bahamas and said he' be there. *Well, I called his cell and house phone at 5:29, no answer, so at 5:31 down the canal I go. *I talked to him last night and he was appologetic, but his excuse was total BS. *I was tired, we didn't get home till 4am, that week in the Bahamas was tough, I had to cut the grass.... ;D *It actually works out better this way becasue I can rag on everyday for oooo, two weeks I guess. *Forgot to add, he works in onw of my departments ;D :o ::)

Yes they will wear out over time but a good repair shop can make it like new. A buddy of mine took his in for a hub job and the shop said he had worn about a 1/2 inch off the prop. I think it cost him around $100.00 to have it fixed.

Alrighty then, I got some pics, but I guess its reel hard to show just how thing the blades are? Lets see how they look:

If the pics don't show it, you'll just have to take my word for it that the tips are eroding. I'm working a deal on a Merc Rev 4 right now...
