Slow site

Is anyone other than me having problems with the site, takes forever to open, sign in, go from post to post etc.
The reason I am asking is we just upgraded to 1.5 gig of memory and our DSL is flying speed wise and yet I am struggling with the site. The other sites I go on zap from page to page and photo to photo so fast with this new processor upgrade that I am amazed.

Re: Slow site

It has been ridicuously slow at times for me. It ran fine this morning at 7 when nobody was posting, but downhill since. I haven't been able to open it for the last 30 minutes either.

SOmetimes the site has no issues,
but sometimes it just cranks away and nothing happens.
When it gets slow, it gets sssssllllloooooowwwwww.

I just get off the computer and come back later
and it seams to work better.

Re: Slow site

yea for me too, I was hoping it was my computer but as I said we just made some serious improvements and still having the problems.
MJ is there anything that can be done at the server end since everyone posting has been having the same problems?

Re: Slow site

Hey MJ, listen I think something is happening with the site, I try to open it and it takes 2-4 minutes for it to open, I try to post to a topic and it takes the same or more to post it and when I try to go from one topic to another it is literally taking up to 3-5 minutes to open it. Last time it got this bad it crashed.
I don't know what can be done but apparently I am not the only one and it might be worth a call to the host.
I was able to post normally a couple times today and then it would go into snail mode for unknown reason and I would get off as it was very frustrating. This has been going on for a long time and it is getting much worse.
The reason I'm bringing this up again is that I am sure it is not my computer or DSL as I have checked with other sites while this is happening and it is lightning fast.
Hopefully you know something that can be done.

Re: Slow site

Listen guys I have been trying to post and keep on top of the site but it has gotten so bad it takes two to three minutes just to go from one thing to another and it freezes up a lot so that I just walk away. And it is definitly the site not my PC.
I will be off for awhile so if anyone needs to get ahold of me my email is in my profile I check it frequently.

Re: Slow site

I have been having problems also, was just talking to CB about it this morning.

You are not alone!

Re: Slow site

When it happens to me I just close it out and go do something else for a while...then come back just a little while later and its fine. The other day I typed up a fairly lengthy PM to Skools (he's helping me shop for a small boat) and hit the post button and got the classic "page cannot be displayed" message....and you all know what happens when you hit the back button ::)

macojoe 09-06-2007 03:13 PM

Re: Slow site

After I type a long message I highlight it and right click hit copy then the post button, so when that happens I just hit the post button again and right click paste and it all still there ;)
