1985 V20 fisherman CC
Versatile boat? I've found one and don't know whether or not to pull the trigger. 200hp Evinrude (rebuild), good alum trailer, nicely appointed for under 10k.
Too much? |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
PICTURES PLEASE
Yes it's too much for me but maybe there is everything to consider. Condition and accessories, etc. |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
I've yet to move on it. It's listed on craigslist Wilmington NC.
Yeah, it's too high for me also I'm afraid. |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
$10,000 sounds like a lot for that year boat :-/

$10,000 sounds like a lot for that year, unless she is loaded :-/

Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
Here's the posting. Maybe it will help the guys out.
http://wilmington.craigslist.org/boa/417357695.html His ad says he put over $14k in her over the last year. The livewell pump doesn't work, but he says everything else is "fish ready". I don't have the $10k but could make him an offer of course. |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
Way too much for that boat.
$14k over the last year? ::) |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
I think 10k is too much as well, but of course you won't find a brand new 20ft CC for anywhere near 10k.
There are cheaper ones out there for sure. |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
It's easy to spend more than you could ever hope to recover when it comes time to sell. Take this boat for example...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ONE-O...spagenameZWDVW I'm sure he really did spend 100k as he claims and the boat does look like it has had a lot of work done to it. The seller is trying to get back 1/3 of his expense, which isn't going to happen. The boat that you're looking at seems to be in only fair condition and it's hard to see 14k worth of work in it. MJ's looks like a much better deal! |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
Thanks. I've tuned this one out. Anything I've ever improved on anything...cars..atv's...guns...etc..I've never recouped my money. It's just a bonus for the next owner it seems. Electronics, rewiring...etc..etc...is dang nice, but how can you really put a price on used stuff?
What's MJ got? |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
Look in FS section - he's got a nice 1975 full transom with full bracket (w/swim platforms) and a 175hp evinrude outboard. I think total gas cap is 65 gallons. She's a nice ride and he's got it priced low low low!
Go buy it! ;) |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
Sanford NC here. I like the price and how it looks, but my heart is set on a CC....and I'm in Sanford NC. That's a far piece for me for a boat....and I have terrible luck with older trailers.

Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
Welcome Surfsquasher!
I am in Randleman, was just in Sandford Monday @ the Community College teaching driver training, as I do 3 Mondays a month. Buy MJ's, we will set up a relay to get it down here. Or BGA's. ;) |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
I am new here. I'm picking up an 86 CC V20..with 200 Johnson(rebuild). $2200...tomorrow afternoon.
The deck is soft in front of the console, transom is good, boat has some nicks and dings, trailer has some rust on the roller bars i'll have to fix. Need to rewire all, run the steering cable(new hydraulics), new tilt motor is installed. Windshield has cracks. Being that i once dug a 23 foot Winner out of the dirt and restored it from scratch, I don't see where this one is too difficult to restore. I rode in a V20 with the front cabin a couple times..it hits way to hard in steep chop...hoping the CC will do better. |
Re: 1985 V20 fisherman CC
Thanks for the plug guys!!
10k for a V20, there is no way!! I bet over the last 9 years I have put 15K in my v20 and I am now giving it away!! You never get it back!! And don't let that trailer fool you, its been all over this year, Ma. CT, RI all over and not a thing wrong, Just some new fenders she be around a long time ;) |
