Re: Splash Down Today! You know from this point on, that boat should be referred to as a (the) V-Ox. |

Re: Splash Down Today! 3&1/2 hours....when do we send out the search party? ;D |
Re: Splash Down Today! Well I went out and back and thats a good thing! Motor runs awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!And you guys were right, the motor idles perfect in the water!! we headed out, n ot with out problems, I will address at the bottom. seas light and we make it to the no wake zone and i hit the gas, wow roght up she came and rode great!! but then the seas started rto rise and the ferry traffic, I hit the tabs and bow right down, and what a ride! you know right away thaqt you not in the V anymore!! she is heavy, but rear heavy with a light nose, she rides solid!! we going over 3 & 4 footers wit ease and not a bang!! Friend pete says wow this is so nice, I have to get *me one! Then says I guess I won't lose anymore teeth in this boat! Ok nnow the problems 1. Need Longer bow rope! *You guys would have laughed you a$$ off watching thew clown act!! 2. Shift adjustment, in the yard I hear a small grind when I went in reverse, but the prop spun, but in the water the grind was there and no reverse? But all I did was put the cables from one motor to the other and thought they be fine? 3. That Bimi top is gone!! way to low, my head hitting it, can't see out the windows they two low. So I guess I have to go for a hole new enclouser *:'( 4. I have a Tilt & Trim leak, and could not get the motor down with out turning the releaf screw. 5. I might need reproping?? I was hitting 6000 on the tac, buit I am not sure its reading nright? Its the worse news as it is the center ram, which means I have to get that *big rusted pin out then the nuckle off to replacxe the O ring. I am going to try to see if the cap is lose?, But I can see the oil leak at the SS center rod. I was wondering if power steering stop leak, Like Lucas, would stop it or should I not even try a addative?? So thats the list, all and all I am a happy camper!! ;D ;D ;D Now a few pictures http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003771.sized.jpg http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003772.sized.jpg http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003773.sized.jpg http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003774.sized.jpg http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003775.sized.jpg http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003776.sized.jpg http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003777.sized.jpg http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003780.sized.jpg http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003781.sized.jpg |

Re: Splash Down Today! I bet that 22HP will flat out fly! Them early loopers are pretty d@mn strong, and not that bad on fuel either. |
Re: Splash Down Today! MJ, she does look schweet in the water. Congrats on the maiden voyage. I wanna see pitchurs of the 3 to 4 footers though! ... and pictures of the love nest too! |

Re: Splash Down Today! Congrats on 1st splash, Big Guy!!...besides the T & T prob, sounds like all went well... Hey...on that top ... ya might can save some $$ by reusing the frame and tossin' the canvas...think about REPOSITIONING the frame so it's level and the front is just behind the top of your new windshield...might even work better turned backward from what it is now...if it can be repositioned to where it looks good and you can stand up under it, it'll save $$ just makin' new canvas...just a thought...may not work, but worth a look-see ;) ;D ...nice rig ya got there, MJ... 8) ... |
Re: Splash Down Today! Good work MJ, how about next summer you come down to Lewes and rig my V for me? |
Re: Splash Down Today! Congratss MJ, that is a fishin machine!!! I love the captains seet with the leaning option!! ;D Hyanis Harbour, I was there last weekend visting my parents onthe island. Beatiful place! |
Re: Splash Down Today! Thanks everyone!! The canvas and frame only work one way, Its all junk, I almost thur it over ther side yesterday!! :-/ But good Ideas reel!! Sean, I live 3 miles from Hyannis, give me a yell next time! ;) |
Re: Splash Down Today! MJ's buddy Pete...putting the plug in while MJ parks the truck ;D http://syncboard.com/albums/album05/P0003773.sized.jpg Congrats on the splashdown! Always fun in a new-to-you boat! |
Re: Splash Down Today! Thats funny!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really we had to short a rope, and the boat left the trailer and he was trying to pull it to the dock! Funny $hit you had to be there!! You think we never even had a boat before!! |
Re: Splash Down Today! Ah makes sense. I've let teh bow get away from me before at the dock. It can be a real PITA when the wind and tide is up - especially if a man has too short a rope. Least you had the plug in ;) |
Re: Splash Down Today! Congrats big guy! I know you'll get the bugs worked out in a day or two. BTW, did you test the bilge pumps? Just kiddin, good job MJ |
Re: Splash Down Today! Actually he's not kidding :o Did you test the pumps Captain ??? ;) |
Re: Splash Down Today! yes the pumps are working both of them!! ;) |
Re: Splash Down Today! looks good MJ. Yesterday I saw a guy launching the same boat as your ox. He had a hard-top w/ curtains......REAL nice....good luck w/ the new ride. |
Re: Splash Down Today! congrats MJ..looks good in the water!...let me know how the t&t repair goes..i took mine completely off the johnson 140..i just raise and lower it by hand and hope i dont find any shallow water ... :-/ |
Re: Splash Down Today! Its going to be a SOB!! But I am sure I will get it, but its going to rain tilll the week end and then we just looked at a place today and I am going to be moving in 3 weeks! :o I have to move everything in 3 weeks, I mean everything!! I don't know how I am going to do it?? |

Why do I have to read about it here? :P |
Re: Splash Down Today! Glad you got your rig going MJ. |
Re: Splash Down Today! MJ, do they have PODS up there, when I moved to Florida we used them. They park this big box in your yard and you load it up. You can put all the essentials in one and less essential stuff in another. That way you can take your time moving in. |
Re: Splash Down Today! Thats a good Idea Franco!! They have them here also, I will have to call them Thanks!! ;) |
Re: Splash Down Today! Anytime MJ |
Re: Splash Down Today! Congrats on the big splash. looks real nice. No way to raise the enclosure a few inches? |
Re: Splash Down Today! Its all torn and I have to have the top made anyway, and no one wants to do just the top, so if I am going to do it, I am going all the way! ;D |
